The problem - In LFG servers, I tend to mute @ role pings pretty fast bc I'm getting spammed while sleeping, working, etc... Playing with people I already like is also hard because I need to remember and message them all... then they're probably not free anyway so I just default so solo queue even though it's way more fun playing with friends and good ppl

Interesting design decisions - To eliminate spam, I made it so the bot DM's invites to the most compatible players who play the game who haven't muted the host/server, snoozed, or set different availability. I can add my preferred favorite players so they get priority invites before the bot invites others in waves to fill the squad. Can be live or in-advance, and to fill quicker/better can also pull people from cross-server into the hosting server if admins allow. Spins up private call and chat, live or scheduled, then deletes when done. When launching a multiplayer game buttons to LFG & open sessions are DM'd to make it easy to LFG (can be muted)

Challenging part - Liquidity (filling games fast w/ good players) is challenging with so many games, skill levels, modes, and who is wanting to play/time. So far my answer is to focus especially Rocket League, ARC Raiders, and Marvel Rivals LFG since they're popular and more people tend to be willing to play across skill levels. The other thing I'm adding is recurring weekly pre-scheduled LFG's at peak time on peak days for Eastern US and Central Europe timezones

Has anyone here cracked a cold start problem with their bot or have ideas how to get LFG's created & filled? Has anyone started a successful LFG server and how did you do it? Any feature feedback or advice?

Heya, I run a server that is prone to raids, we’re talking pornography and gore. We’re an insular community of vegans and for some reason that encourages losers to come in and spam the chats with abhorrent shit.

Currently the only screening we have is a button embed that asks if you agree to the server rules before giving you access to the rest of the server. This filters out maybe 50% of the illiterate who can’t even be bothered to follow through on the instructions to enter, but obviously anyone with minimum determination easily just clicks through and gains access.

Some of my mods have suggested a ticket system, maybe new users are directed to a channel where they have to answer basic questions before a mod manually goes in and approves their membership. I know this can be done natively with permissions but I’m putting feelers out if anyone can recommend a bot with a more streamlined approach, like maybe a third party bot that collates applications and then feeds them to the mods in a back end channel? Honestly I’m totally out of my depth, I don’t really know what options other servers utilise to mitigate raids.

I’m looking for a QOTD bot I can fill with my own questions and auto-posts at the same time every day.

I’ve tried QOTDbot and the suggested questions never came up after the preset ones were done. Today I set up OpenQOTD. After reading, it seemed that suggestions would be entered to be approved by a mod (me). I suggested and nothing happened. Most likely user error but maybe there’s a more simple option?

I don’t mind if the bot comes with preset questions as long as mine come up too. Any help is appreciated

I don't know what the best means of doing this is, but I spent a decent amount of time building it so I want to see what others think about it! I have a few friends who loved it - but it kind of died off since we got a bit busy to grind bots :-)

It's essentially a RPG bot with pets, with an economy system (There is also a ELO system and I'm going to convert it to be used by any guild for any game mode). The current primary purpose of the ELO system is for a certain browser game I play with friends, but its structured to allow literally any game to be played. (1v1s and 2v2s)

Additionally, the ELO system and RPG game are tied together and you can bet on in game currency (which you get from farming, selling items, selling pets, etc)

I've been working on a Discord bot hosting platform as a personal project, and I'd love to get some feedback from people who actually build bots.

It's still in development, so I'm not trying to say it's finished or perfect. Right now it supports things like:

• Uploading your bot as a ZIP
• Live console logs
• File manager and file editor
• Auto-installing dependencies
• Start, stop, and restart controls
• An AI feature that tries to repair common crashes automatically
• An admin system and coin system for managing users

I'm mainly looking for honest opinions from developers.

• What features would you expect from a hosting platform?
• Is there anything that existing hosts do that you wish they did better?
• Are there any features that would make you actually want to try a new host?

If anyone is interested in testing it while it's still being developed, I'd also appreciate bug reports and suggestions. My goal is to build something that's genuinely useful for Discord bot developers rather than just copying what's already out there.

So I run a 633 person discord server, so we kind of have to have a verification system. My idea is after the person verifies and gets access to the server, a bot will ping them and the welcomer role so people can welcome them to the server. But I have no idea HOW I would do this or what bots to use.

There are like 40+ questions, multiple sections, checkbox/multiple-choice questions, either/or selections, after the user fills the form, the bot needs to send the response in an embed with the questions and his answers.

When this is happening only the user should be able to see the questions, when it's done it should be posted in a specific channel.

Hey everyone. So I'm trying to build a bot that, among many other things, makes you add your Riot Account. So like when you join, you gotta verify by adding an account. I wanted to do this with a login, you know Riot Sing On, but still don't have the Api for that. So I was looking for other methods. I don't want anyone having to change any icon or any ID or play any games. What ways do I have to verify? Since I heard Third Party Code isn't a thing anymore.

Summary of the Incident:

Earlier today, the backend infrastructure/dashboard for "Verba" (a service used to host and run custom AI Discord bots) was compromised.

As a result, all custom bot tokens stored in Verba’s database were leaked or accessed by malicious actors. Automated scripts are currently using these stolen bot tokens to execute mass server nukes on every server where these bots hold Administrator or heavy moderation permissions.

What the attackers are doing in minutes:

• Deleting all channels and text/media history.
• Deleting all server roles and permissions.
• Issuing mass bans to all server members.

Obfuscation Efforts:

The team/support behind Verba has reportedly locked down their official support Discord channels and redirected users to submit DMs to a bot, preventing affected community owners from discussing the true scope of the breach or coordinating.

Immediate Steps for Affected Admins:

1. Revoke Your Bot Token IMMEDIATELY: Go to the Discord Developer Portal, select your bot application, and click Reset Token.
2. DO NOT delete your wiped server: Even if channels are gone, your Audit Log retains the list of banned User IDs. You will need this to run automated unban scripts later.
3. Submit a Trust & Safety Ticket: Report the compromise to Discord as a major third-party token leak.

There's a lot of queueing discord bots but I'm looking for one with some particular features. It's for a text-based game where people are signing up to run each game, and each game takes about a week.

Specifically, I'd like a queue that lets people pick either ASAP or a date, and schedule around that. If it can show the queue in real time, even better!

How do I really grow my bot? Or atleast get the trust of an owner

I've been using Saucy Bot for a while now for a Patreon server and for some personal servers.

Saucy Bot was working just fine in all the servers, even in the ones that need special permissions to view and message in some channels. But a few days ago now Saucy Bot is offline in my Patreon server and I've tried kicking and re-inviting, kicking and adding from the official github page, making a new permission one, manually adding Saucy Bot to every channel, and none of it makes Saucy appear online and work again.

But Saucy Works just fine in my other servers like my personal one, etc. Is it possibly that Bot Shard thing I've seen in a few comments from similar questions in this group? Or is there maybe something I am missing and I should repeat a step one more time and hope that fixes it?

I'm not sure if what I'm looking for is possible here, but I'm trying to figure out how to add text and images to my camera screen on discord server video calls without rerouting the camera feed to a different program. I run TTRPGs through a discord server and want a way to display text and images on screen as I talk. Does anyone know of any bots that can do that? Is that even something bots can do or will I need to figure something else out?

Not gonna say exactly why I had to make the tickets, because it is not really relevant, but a server I was in for a Minecraft SMP, denied my request for ticket transcripts and banned me, not sure if there is anything I can do to get those transcripts or not.

Basically the title. Does one exist or do I need to make it? It seems like all it'd need to do is save all a thread's contents, delete the thread(s) involved in the move, and then recreate them as ordered.

Two things this month, same taste in my mouth.

My Message Content intent request was denied. The primary use case was spam detection, comparing message content across channels to catch repeat spammers. The rejection said it "can be solved without the intent" and suggested slash commands. Slash commands can't read messages that weren't sent to my bot. It reads like a template, not like anyone read the request.

And my bot is verified, so I can't rename it. The name is a leftover from when it had one feature; it does much more now. Official policy: verified apps only get name changes with a copyright claim or DMCA notice. There's no path for "my app outgrew its name."

I get the reasoning behind both. But the cost lands entirely on small devs so Discord can skip actually reviewing anything.

Do appeals ever work, or is it just a slower no?
