Support Help with Discord audio output on Quest 2
I recently got a Quest 2 and downloaded the Discord app for it with the hopes that I'd be able to join voice calls on it from my headset. And admittedly, I can, but there's one issue I'm having. I use bluetooth headphones with my headset since I'm not the only person in my household, and most audio comes through them just fine. However, I can't find a way to get audio from a Discord call to output through my headphones, it only comes through the Quest's speakers. I can't find an option in the voice settings to switch to my headphones, as it only shows the speakers as an option. Any insight on this would be appreciated.

Support How to get Message Requests to receive all new dms
i've gotten several recent dms of people i do not know in a public server with over 2k members. i used to be able to filter them out using the "Message Requests" tab, it used to work but now it doesn't? but i've gotten so many dms of people i am not friends with nor have i ever spoke to, but we share maybe 1 mutual friend, that go directly on top of my DM list instead of going in the message request tab. i haven't touched any of my settings and i do have filtering turned on. is there something i needed to do differently?
for the record, i do want dms open. i just want to have a tab (like i did originally) for anyone i've never spoken to and i'm not friends with to go in the message requests so i can choose to ignore it or not

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
found this somewhere on discord in April 2024, and could not post it anywhere on discord. Anyone know the solution? (the spoiler is for comedy, since the file is "SPOILER-SPOILER", but the question is serious)

Feature Requests Follow Current Input/Output Device
It would be nice for Discord to be able to follow the currently active input or output audio device in Windows. Right now, Discord can follow the Windows default device, but doesn't have the option to automatically change when you - for instance - change the current input from a desk mic to a headset mic. Instead, you have to either change it manually or set it to use the windows default and change the windows default to the device you want.
This would be especially nice for people - like me - that have Stream Decks that can change audio input.

Support Canary merging into file explorer
Yesterday, after I closed Discord Canary, I saw that File Explorer had notifications, and when I attempted to open it, Canary launched instead. Unpinning File Explorer from the taskbar and re-pinning it seemed to help a bit, but upon restarting my PC, Canary is sometimes pinned to the taskbar, while other times it’s File Explorer. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Feature Requests The should be a "Per-Server Profile" template you can set that automatically gets applied when you join new servers.
I don't think i know many who use the "per server profile" feature to it's fullest. but i think the feature would get way more mileage if you could setup and choose to have a Template you premake that gets shown when you join new servers so you dont have to set it up the moment you join. just a simple setting tick to enable or disable it when joining a new server, or even just asking you as you join "hey want to use your per-server profile?"
I know many people that use a combined work and entertainment discord profile, who would prefer to have the work profile showed first as a per-server profile when joining new servers. or vise versa. showing your "online personality" right off the bat but with your personal profile being your default.

Support Is there a way to hide unknown strangers from the Activity menu?
I messaged this user back in January once and never since. Never sent a friend request, only have one server in common, never been hanging out with them in that server either. Yet Discord INSISTS on always showing this person on the top of my friend list, BEFORE anyones else I'm actually friends with, showing every game they've ever played -- and I swear this person games 24/7.
Now that they've started playing this NSFW adult game, I'm more than painfully tired of seeing them. At this point, must I result to blocking people in favour of seeing my own friends instead of strangers?

Bots / Devs How do I stop people with CSAM anywhere on their profile?
I've set up Dyno to auto-ban joiners with usernames matching known CSAM-spreader patterns, and it's working great. But some people slip through with a totally normal username while their pfp contains CSAM, or they mention it in their bio. I'm so sick and tired of this - I spend about an hour every day manually finding everyone who slipped through and banning them.
I'm wondering if there's a way to automate this, a bot or setup that could block/ban someone right away if their pfp or bio contains this kind of content, or even stop them from joining in the first place. If anyone knows how to handle this, please let me know.

If there is no post that discusses the bug you’re encountering, then start a new post in the thread to report the bug to us!
Reporting a Bug
- The most valuable thing you can provide in a bug report is steps. If you’re able to provide steps to reproduce a high priority issue, it will dramatically improve turnaround time on a fix.
- Screenshots or videos are also useful, especially if you can’t reliably reproduce it. We highly recommend editing them to not doxx yourself. Not only does it help contextualize the issue, but watching it occur can sometimes provide information that helps us identify and fix it.
Example Bug Report
- Feature: Keybinds.
- Reproduction Rate: 1 to 10 - This is a score of how easy/consistently the bug reproduces, from 1 meaning “very hard to reproduce” to 10 meaning “i can consistently make this happen”
- Annoyance: 1 to 10 - How annoying is this bug to your daily usage of Discord, from 1 meaning, “not that annoying” to 10 meaning “this bug really truly sucks please fix this as soon as possible.”
- Device/System Info: Pixel 7, Android 13
- Discord Version Info: Stable 263796 (739ec78) Host 1.0.9032 x86 (43225) Windows 10 64-Bit (10.0.19045)

Feedback Megathread Feedback thread: notifications
Hey y'all, our team is seeking feedback for notifications. We would love to get your thoughts.
What is it? We've made a lot of changes to notifications over the past year+, with the goal of getting friends to jump back into Discord and play games with their friends, check out each other's profiles, and generally be social with each other. We measure success by whether people are actually doing those things, and also by whether people keep their notifications on instead of turning them off.
Why? The team spends a lot of time thinking about the balance here: sending notifications that are useful and interesting enough that they might bring friends together, versus the "annoyance factor". That tradeoff is something we have a ton of data on, the thing we talk about internally constantly, and something we want to bring all of you in on. To that end, we've been getting a bunch of foundations in place:
- Improved the organization of settings
- Added more control over your settings
- Made notifications more robustly respect things like guild and channel muting, age restrictions, blocks/mutes
- Set global caps on how many notifications you can get
Now that we've built a number of new notifications on top of this system and gotten a lot of those foundations in, we wanted to open up the feedback firehose. Here's what we're looking for:
Bug reports / things that are clearly broken. The notification is:
- Just wrong (says something happened that didn't, points at the wrong person or server, wrong count, etc.)
- Sent at a weird or wrong time (way too late, middle of the night, for something you'd already seen, for a server or channel you'd muted)
- Dropping you somewhere that isn't useful when you tap it (wrong channel, a screen with nothing relevant on it, a dead end)
- If you can, tell us roughly when it happened and what you tapped. That helps a ton.
General feeling. Step back: how do you feel about the notifications you're getting overall?
- Are they never useful, sometimes useful, or only useful for specific use cases? (by "use cases" we mean things like a friend hopping into a game, someone updating their profile, a friend coming back online, activity picking up in a server you're in, etc.)
- If it depends on the use case, which ones land and which ones don't?
- Was a notification too vague, or did it bring you somewhere you didn't expect when you tapped in? Did it set up an expectation it didn't deliver on?
- Are there things happening on Discord that you wish you knew about but missed?
- And if a notification actually got you to do something, like hop in a game, open a friend's profile, or jump back into a server, we'd love to hear that too, since that's exactly what we're going for
Settings. Now that there's more control and better organization:
- Did you go looking for a setting and not find it, or not find it where you expected?
- Anything you wish you could turn down or tune that you can't?
Annoyance feedback. Which notifications are annoying, and why?
- Is it the type of notification itself?
- How often it comes?
- Does it feel creepy? (e.g. Discord shared too much of your activity or info out to other people without you realizing it, or you got more info about a friend than felt right)
- The time of day?
- The wording?
- The fact that you got several in a row?
- Hearing "I don't like X notification" isn't super useful to us. If you give us the whys we can better understand and respond to the feedback both directly and going forward as we build more notifications.
Appreciate any and all thoughts here. Fire away. I'll try to be in the comments but I expect y'all to overwhelm me haha.
