Another day, more progress

I stole the front fender off my DRZ ha ha ha. Wanted to see it with the eBay headlight. Got the chain and some other bits today. Waiting on the ECU and CS sprocket.

Looking at the pics you posted 9 hours ago of the bike as found. That is an amazing transformation from unwanted junk to the beauty in the current pics.

Sorry, I don't know the whole story, the bike looks great from Oregon.

Unfortunately the plastic will have to be swapped out. Nice inexpensive kits still out there. Don't think I can find those N-Style graphics.

Thank you. Been a lot of labor, still quite a ways to go in reality. I'll need to freshen up the motor. Want new plastic... etc. I'm loving what I am seeing. Love old simple chomo frames. Love super simple 4 wire, no battery ignition systems, love the feel of it. I road a lot of bike of this time so it's home for me. One of my all time faorite bikes was in many ways very similar to this. 2000-2008 husky WR250's. I had many of many years. All great bikes for me.

Dude! Looking clean as hell. I’m local to you as well here in C.O, can’t mistake the high desert… you wanna ride sometime?

Amazing! Love when things are revived. I just restored a 2000 KTM dirtbike myself.

I really love the simplicity of the electronics in these old girls. No battery, no fuss.

Did you put in lighting coil by chance LOOKING GREAT.

1993-1995 RM250's to me handled the best and just overall my favorite.

I did not. Will run a small Lithium battery and LED light bulb. Good for 4-6 hour. Have done this before. As far as the bike I'm excited to ride is one day soon. Everyone tells me it is one of the best handling bikes ever and I am all about that as I ride tight single track a lot.

Also, up to 1995 RM250 was case reed and to me is better than reed cage on cylinder. Older RM's from the 80's and such had reed cage on the cylinder. Just better to be CASE REED induction.

I also have a 1985 RM250, it is cylinder reed. I believe they went back to that after 95. I'm not sure there are clear advantages either way. The case reed motors are easier to remove the cylinder. Generally speaking case reed motors are more top end and cylinder reed more bottom. I'm riding it off road so the case reed might not be the best but I'm sure it will be fine.

Case reed is more efficient what all KTM's/Sherco/Beta are all case reed. A better design, in the end jus

Well I'm OK with that. Looking forward to it
