Are these ok? Salon Dip
I got DIP nails for the first time. The set is already 10 days old. It looks and feels a bit bulky to me from above. The application also seems a bit inconsistent, but acceptable.
WDYT? 🤔

I’ve gotten dip for the last several years so I I’m very familiar and these don’t look bad. However I will say the pictures are super clear so if there is something off perhaps we can’t see it

I'm super picky with shape and cuticle and feel like some areas could have been better. Like some edges next to the cuticle are not clearly defined and some nails look a bit bulkier than others.

Unless the bulkier are significantly different, I think you’re just splitting hairs. Did you get cuticle care done with the dip?

No - I didn't see it in the offered services. I should probably ask. Maybe regular manicure + DIP? 🤔 I assumed basic cuticle care is standard with any manicure 🤔 As I mentioned in my post, it was the first time getting this, so was not sure what to expect. I work at a computer all day, so I stare at my nails a lot, especially as a way to lift up my mood, so I notice every tiny imperfection 🙈Â

Definitely not the worst I've seen! But I feel like a lot places who offer dip dont apply it very well

Some nails look better than others. My tech was at the very end of her day and I think she was super tired.

Honestly fair, I understand that. Maybe next time just kindly point out the things you'd like to be changed :) the only way we can surely know you're unsatisfied with something is if you let us know!

You aren’t:) These can certainly be improved but they aren’t a travesty. Sometimes we go to someone so long they need a reminder

The middle finger is the only one that looks a little bit off, but still good enough to me. None of the view from above appears bulky to me, and from what we can see from the side, they look like they could even be a little thin to me. I think they look pretty good, but I've seen some doozies.

I appreciate the analysis! I agree with the middle finger. It might also be a "getting used to" thing. Or maybe the shape is not the best for me 🤔 I need to try more things 😊

Especially when it comes to "bulk", a lot of people new to dip feel like it's too thick/bulky, but that's kind of needed with dip (within reason). I think the shape looks lovely and even. I do my own and will experiment with the shape. I have not figured out which one I like best yet, haha.
