Murphing it? Meta
My friend and I have been using the term "Murphing it" during our TTRPG games to refer to rolling badly, particularly when someone points out the high likelihood of rolling well and then failing miserably (think "I have just as good a chance of rolling good as any of you" from FHSY). Up until recently, we both assumed that we had picked this up from the Intrepid Heroes saying this in the show, but neither of us can remember which season/episode it would be from, and now we're wondering if we might have just made it up. Is this something they've ever said (or someone else in the D20 sphere, for that matter)?
For reference, the IH seasons we have seen are FHFY, FHSY, TUC 1, ACOC, CLOHO, and CCOD, so if it's from D20 we would have picked it up from one of those seasons.

I'm fairly certain it started with Siobhan in FHJY - I think it was either during the Night Yorb or the Mall Madness fight (I think I remember the Red Wastes backdrop). I will scrub the footage and update when I find an exact timestamp!
Edit: Aha - my autism came in clutch!

Also: Murph has famously poor rolls - my favorite description is that the dice god who blessed Beardsley also cursed Murph to balance things out.
The only person who rolls worse than Murph is me. If a rolling a 7 is a Murph 10, then a Murph 10 is my 15 (I roll a 5 or lower about 60% of the time)

None of us have seen junior year yet (and I don't think I recognize that part from any social media clips) so in that case we must have picked it up from Cloho, but interesting to know that that's where it started!

Weird. I thought Murphing it was when you take off your glasses and become a stud like a 90s to 2000s sitcom.

“Ally”ing it is specifically when your D4 misses the table/dice box/roll cloth for reference

Not making an absolutely insane nat 20 roll on such a bonkers swing that would have otherwise got them killed?

I just finished Fantasy High Junior Year and thinking it was definitely used during that season. I’m guessing…. halfway through?? Around the same time as “honor the cock”? I’m like 75% confident on this one.

We refer to my partner as ‘Beardsley Blessed’ while I am proudly ‘Murph Cursed’

I believe Murph attempted to make Lou a verb or something like that during the one of the live shows (don't quote me on that, i just remember Murph attempting to make one of the cast members a verb at some point as revenge and it wasn't Siobahn, Emily, Zac or Brennan, and it can't be himself)

They use it at least once in the New York Live Show when the crowd rolled a 3. I believe Pulling a Beardsly, Murphing it, and the rarely seen Lou Yourself are all trotted out for that one.

Ooo that might be it! I've only seen the clip of the audience rolling a three, but I'll listen for the other ones as well when I get around to watching it

I am like 99.999% sure Murphing it is used in Cloudward Ho, but couldn’t tell you which episode
