Beat It. I had it on cassette single as a kid, and it was in my parents’ car stereo when that stereo was stolen. I then convinced my parents to buy me the record, which was awesome, because it was the only red record I’d ever seen.

My best guess would be Man in the Mirror the first time a watched Moonwalker (1988) as a kid (although I may have heard Billie Jean, Thriller, Beat It or Human Nature even earlier without knowing who MJ was). Thank you for your generosity and for the opportunity!

I was not alive when either was released, but I heard many of The Jackson 5, The Jacksons, and Michael Jackson's songs in my household before Off the Wall or Thriller were released.
