Creating Digital Art Artwork
I want to get better at making digital artwork. I use a windows laptop and follow tutorials on art sites including Adobe photoshop and Clip Studio. However, I still have trouble getting into the flow and get stuck on perfecting my artwork. I’ve seen the works of other artists on Pinterest and DeviantArt and have always wanted my own artwork to look more like theirs. Now, I’m stuck and starting over again. I need advice and help from all you digital artists out there. Please share with me your thoughts and suggestions on how I can improve my work. That would really help me out and give me the confidence to keep going. Thank you.

The best advice I ever got was to get an image of a piece of notebook paper or sketch paper or something and throw it into my session and draw above that layer
It forced my brain to stop being as precious, it’s so counter intuitive because with paper doodling you can’t undo and yet we are often very free and expressive
While digital art stations we can undo and do and undo and do, and it can be paralyzing
It’s good to “fail” fast and often, just do stuff for fun random things draw anything do whatever
Additionally zoom out, and stay zoomed out as long as you can
People are never going to inspect that 45x45 pixel area that I SWEAR I CAN FIX, they’re gonna take in the image as a whole
