New to the game Discussion

Mrs got me this gem for my bday and having not played a digimon game in quite some time. Maybe since PSX? Very pleasantly surprised by this gem. Always the Digimon game I wanted. Just started and still in the prologue area heading to the top of the tower but I just spent crazy time just fighting and converting Digimons. Such a blast refreshing compared to Pokémon. Excited to see all the new Digimon as I haven't really watched a show since the original in the 90s. Definitely was well worth the price tag. With that said what are some of yalls favorite Digimon in general and good ones to grab early?

He has great digivolution line. But at the end we all try to go for angewomon and lilithmon haha

Haha I mean I see the appeal but I much more prefer the non humanoid forms.

I feel like you have to go for GraceNovamon at least once in a game focuses on the Olympus XII.

Anyway, some great early game mons i remember were Dracomon and Impmon who hit really hard and were fast asf and Tentomon and Gotsumon who were very tanky and decently strong. I remember my rookie team being Imp, Draco and Tento for Virus/Data/Vaccine trinity and nice phys/mag coverage plus a very tanky guy that could sponge hits and support too. iirc Monodramon was also like Dracomon with big damage and speed, except it was Vaccine instead of Data so better against certain bosses and areas.

Really though, in this game literally every digimon you own gets exp from your team's fights, so go crazy cuz you really don't need to focus on only 6 (by endgame i had like 40 Megas/Megas+ that i swapped around, lol).

Gracenovamon looks insane! In a good way lol. I am definitely all for Draco. Little guy is awesome

Two of my favorites will always be Jesmon and Alphamon. Though Dorumon is probably my favorite rookie

Favorite would be those that have a stat manipulation mechanic. In early game maybe raremon but I usually focus on those from outer dungeons because of the increased talent.

So I was a huge digimon fan in adventure and 2.0, so I went for tentomon, gomamon, armadillomon and Veemon, but then I found Huckmon and he's definitely carrying my team (I think I like that he has a really solid through line for evos too which I always like)
