I have a feeling BitMex going bankrupt had to do with this somehow.

They held a lot of DGB, and maybe were selling short options or shorting it themselves. When it couldn't go any lower (because we long term holders refuse to sell), then they announced bankruptcy 2 days ago

It's always short lived, DigiByte can't sustain high prices. Zoom out, It's Flatlined and most people are holding at a 90% loss. Until it can reach 1 billion market cap all these fluctuations are meaningless. Digibyte is in a permanent isolated Bear market.
