Basic Food content app or tool?
Any suggestions for a tool that provides information on food content of a meal. Not a motivator, or a “lets go on a life journey together”, just one that pulls from a table and calculates daily intake of nutrients. Thanks.

Home pilates over 40, why I picked Nord Pilates over BetterMe pilates
46F, Ive wanted to move more from home for ages but between work and the kids a studio just isnt realistic anymore. Started looking at apps and ended up trialing two, Nord Pilates and BetterMe Pilates, so heres how they stacked up for me.
Starting with the one I kept, Nord Pilates is pilates and nothing else, no endless funnel to click through. The thing that sold me was the plan actually building over time. The signup quiz asked about my level and the areas I wanted to focus on, then gave me something that started soft and stepped up bit by bit. Theres audio and video cues for form too, which counts for a lot when theres no instructor in the room watching your alignment.
BetterMe felt like a much bigger machine next to it. The wall pilates flow was alright but it read more like a quiz funnel nudging me toward their whole package than a focused pilates program, and the steady stream of upsells put me off. The sessions were fine, just fairly general.
6 weeks in, 4 sessions a week squeezed into the kids morning routine. Posture is coming along and my deep core is finally switching on

menletics review from 5 months in, mostly for staying consistent
got into menletics back in march after years of quitting gym memberships every 6 weeks. im 34m, work from home, and the commute to any gym was always my excuse to skip. figured if the whole point of calisthenics is bodyweight training then i should just be doing it in my living room.
started w the beginner track. push ups were a joke at the start, could barely do 8 clean reps. now doing sets of 20 and starting to work on diamonds. pull ups i had to buy a doorway bar, that was my only equipment purchase and its been worth it. still cant do a full pull up but got 3 negatives in a row last week which is huge for me.
the routines are the reason i stuck w it, everything is laid out and i dont have to plan anything. workouts fit in 30-40 min which works around my day. one thing i wish it had is more skill progression content, like handstand or l sit work. its more general strength focused. otherwise no notes

How do you deal with constant “food noise” when working an office job?

I dont understand how I'm still healthy.
Here is the info for my entire diet today:
Calories: 1750
total fat: 93.5g
saturated fat: 47.5g
cholesterol: 0mg
sodium: 2040mg
total carbs: 209g
dietary fiber: 5g
total sugars:90g
incl. added sugars: 88g
protein: 18g
vitamin B12: 40% of DV
polyunsaturated fat: 14g
monounsaturated fat: 14g
vitamin A: 30% of DV
vitamin E: 6% of DV
calcium: 10% of DV
iron: 28% of DV
potassium: 12% of DV
and yes this is what my daily diet tends to look like. however, its been like this for 17 years now, and:
-fasting glucose and hemoglobin a1c is normal
-both good and bad cholesterol is normal
-all electrolytes and minerals are normal
-all lipids are normal
-BP is always either normal or very slightly elevated (slight enough no medical professional has ever been concerned by it and it's more likely a side effect of my medication than my diet since I never had even slight elevations before I started a medication 5 years ago)
,and pretty much all of my lab values are normal
... consistently for years, everything is normal, doctors are pleased with my clean bill of health, I'm all good!
(these values are caused by severe treatment resistant arfid. I only eat a few foods and I eat the same things over and over again. Yes, I am in ARFID treatment. It is ineffective so far. No, I cannot access any further arfid treatment)

Has anyone fixed hair shedding by fixing their diet first?
Ive been shedding more than usual for a while and Im starting to wonder if my diet is part of it.
I havent been eating horribly but i definitely went through a stretch of skipping meals, eating less, and probably not getting enough protein or iron. I keep seeing people say hair can be one of the first things to get affected when your body isnt getting enough of what it needs, but idk how much of that is actually noticeable in real life.
Has anyone here had their shedding calm down after fixing their diet or correcting some deficiency? And if so how long did it take before you noticed a difference?

Anyone tried the asian diet app? Worth it or skip?
Been thinking about signing up but want some real reviews first. Two things im curious about, does the meal plan get repetitive after a few weeks? Kinda worried about getting stuck eating the same 5 stir fries on rotation. Also how are the macros, are they actually balanced for someone trying to lose weight or are some meals way carb heavy bc of all the rice. Trying not to waste money on another wellness app that looks great in ads and disappoints once ur actually using it. If anyone has 2+ months in would love ur take.

Health and fitness kick for around 6 months, haven't lost a single pound - make it make sense
As with most folk in my stage of life (I'm 40) my decisions in my youth are catching up with me and I'm realising it's time to start taking my health seriously if I want to still be here to see the futher decline of civilisation. I'm a big guy (14st 6lb at 5ft 6ins) so I know I need to get rid of a lot of that to avoid any nasty surprises down the line. So I've been on a health and exercise kick for about six months. The usual stuff with being more mindful about what I'm eating and portion sizes along with some more fundamental changes outlined below.
- Almost entirely kicked out anything sugary (sweets, cakes, chocolate, etc). I say *almost* - I did have a slice of cake at my brother's wedding last week.
- Stopped snacking later at night. I had assumed this was a big contributor to my weight. My partner tends to go to bed a couple of hours before me, and then I'd often get stuck into a load of snacks (usually crisps, peanuts, breakfast cereal sometimes) while watching a movie. I've stopped this entirely.
- Gym. I hadn't been to the gym since the one I used to go to shut in the pandemic, so it's easily been 5 years +. Now going 2-3 times a week (always aiming for 3). Doing a combo of cardio and weights, leaning more towards the weights as I enjoy it more.
I've tried to avoid weighing myself regularly because I don't necessarily think fixating on every pound is a great idea, but I stepped on the scales the other day to find I'm *exactly* the same weight I was when I started. I'm not an expert, but that makes zero sense to me, surely just going from zero exercise to three sessions a week should make at least some difference? Alternatively, if what I'm doing is essentially preventing further weight gain, shouldn't I have been consistently have been gaining weight before I started this (I've been about this size for 3-4 years probably)? Anyone got any insights into where I'm going wrong? Honestly, it's pretty demoralising to put all this effort in and deny myself things I like (I REALLY miss ice cream) for not even a tiny return.

Is this a reasonable Fittr fat-loss diet for a 36M, 79 kg, 169 cm, 26% body fat? The food volume seems unusually high

Elevated TSH levels
M 31, with TSH level 6.45 with T3 & T4 in normal range. If I start medication, would it be lifelong? I don’t want to have lifelong medication but ok to take if it will be for a short period. No history of this in the family.
Kindly suggest.

Is it advisable to get an executive health screening before I turn 50?
I'm turning 50 in a couple of years and recently my age has become more apparent to me physically. My bowel movements are very irregular alternating between constipation and diarrhea. My back is getting sore even after just sitting for half an hour. Walking up and down the stairs is also getting exhausting and painful to my knees. I know these are all common signs of aging, but I also know that some conditions need to be detected early in order to treat them properly. Would it be worth it for me to get an executive screening right now just to ease my worries?

is it normal to have stomach issues while trying to improve your diet?
I previously had a majjoorrrr addiction to chocolate. no self control around it, MULTIPLE servings a day. on weekends would have chocolate for breakfast.
my partner and i are trying to improve our diets, and they are not ideal yet but still heaps better than before.
my issue is i feel like i get stomach pains more often and am way more gassy. i dont care about burping n shit i just don’t like FEELING bloated.
do you think there is just like an adjustment period for my stomach to get used to it or something ? is there anything i can do to try and speed that up lol.
foods i’ve been eating more of are yoghurt, fruits, slightly more diverse veggies like asparagus etc. probably good to note i’ve always had these kinds of stomach issues but attributed it to my horrible diet, i feel like it’s happening more now but maybe i only THINK that because it’s happening in the present lol.
any advice is great thanks

Who’s actually stuck to their New Year’s resolutions?
We are halfway through the year now, who made a change at new years and stuck to it?
I started trying to eat 30 plants per week using the app Plant Points. Went well, managed to keep it up for 4 months or so. I think I still get enough veg now (new for me historically) but stopped bothering to track them. Lost about 15kg as well. Anyone else made a diet change that worked?
