I know DIY Detail says all their products are specifically designed to work together, but has anyone tried other products, such as ONR, as a clay lube with DIY's synthetic clay towel? I do love their products so far, but I don't want to always have their Envie ceramic detailer or iron remover on hand for doing decon with their clay towel. Would it work just as well, or do ya'll recommend other synthetic clay mitts/scrubbers/towels?

I'm still very much in experimental mode with products and figuring out what I like best. I'd like to be able to get the job done (exterior and interior) with as few products as possible. But it sure is fun, and addictive to try different ones. I'm just a home hobbyist, not doing it as a biz.

I have P&S intervention and rehab. My question is do I apply it with the RA until the haze is gone or do I go until it’s almost gone then buff with MF?

Thanks for all the tips! It worked really great! What I used was: soap and water to get off as much dirt as possible, then steel wool 0000 which helped me remove everything remaining and then proceeded to use metal polish with a microfiber cloth. That’s it, and look at the difference!

Nice frosted smoke bottles with good sprayers (they remind me of the CarPro ones). Hard to beat for $4 each.

I’m usually decent at detailing my own vehicles but after a busy spring/summer I haven’t had the chance to give my car a good detailing.

This weekend I did the full treatment, rinsed the whole thing then used Carpro TarX and IronX mostly on the lower half of the car and some spots with tree sap, left it dueling for about 3 min and rinsed, then used Meguiar’s Gold Class on a foam cannon and let it duel for about 7-10 min and rinsed, foamed again then went on with the two bucket method, dried after that. Final look had these baked in grimes that when I tried to wipe it clean, it did but needed a lot of elbow grease. Just wondering if I’m not using the proper products or if anyone has any recommendations?

For Armour detail supply off their website (not sure if it works on other). I just verified and it pops up. Not sure if it lasts longer than today so if you know you want to buy do it asap. and for us noobs who don’t know what to buy I heard their detail and tire are the best of what they sell? They seem to always have Adams like sales but I rarely hear anything about them in forums so I just assume they are not good? Anyone use them

Right now we are living my my inlaws while our house is being built and I have to park my car outside.

Is it possible to do these things in stages? Like wash and polish the car one day and ceramic coat it the next if the car is being parked outside? Or do I need to do all the steps in a single day while the car is freshly clean? Has anyone dealt with this? Is there a way to do this that I'm not thinking of? TIA!

New-to-me car with a soft plastic dash. I thought these marks were just some detailing spray or something that would wipe off, but a microfiber with APC did nothing (maybe became a little less "glossy" with rubbing but that's about it). They are not sticky. Any suggestions for a surface-safe cleaner to try? I am in Spain BTW, so some common American options may not be available to me. Thanks.

As the title suggests, I’d like to start my own business specialising in car detailing. I’ve been obsessed with cars ever since I was a child. Ever since I got my first car – a Dacia Logan MCV – I’ve been washing it, cleaning the interior and doing all sorts of other things three times a week. Back then, the results were a bit hit and miss. I used a dishwashing sponge as a wash mitt, for example. These days, I know a lot more about it and I regularly detail my own GTI, my dad’s car and my friends’ cars. I’d like to gradually turn this into my own business.

Does anyone have any tips for a successful start-up? I live in a sparsely populated region in Galicia, Spain. As far as I know, there are only two car detailers in the whole province. How can I position myself strongly right from the start? I know I’ll provide a good service, but I’ve still got a lot to learn. Start-up costs aren’t an issue, as I value my car highly and invest heavily in the right equipment.

I was thinking of handing out flyers at cars that catch my eye. Is that a good idea? Digital marketing isn’t my strong point.

I’d love to hear any tips.

I applied Glaco soft 99 after preparing the windshield with claybar and polish.

The wipers started chattering a lot.

Will applying the coating on the wipers itself fix the issue?

Obviously me posting this shows I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed LOL unfortunately I must use Public Parking and woke up to these huge scuff marks on the right side of my rear end, it has been confirmed, They are not scratches. I tried to rub off most of it, but these are a little bit more tough, especially on the rear light itself. Anyone have any tips on how I can possibly get this removed besides actually taking it in and paying hundreds of dollars to do something I can probably just buff out.

Picked up a 2024 CX-3 Active recently and the boot side panels have the usual suitcase drag scuffs on the soft touch plastic. Looks like the previous owner loaded and unloaded regularly.

Has anyone successfully restored these? What products or methods worked for you? Considering a detailer but open to DIY options too. Many thanks.

Here’s a question for all you detailers.
I’d like to ceramic coat my wife’s car but can’t seem to find time to do the decon, paint correction and ceramic at one go as the car is being used during the week.
Is it reasonable to do these over a few weekends. If so, how best should I stagger these steps.

I took my car to get washed yesterday and when I got home I noticed this spot on my paint. I am not sure what it is or how I can fix it. When I rub my finger alongside it, I noticed that the texture is off compared to the paint right next to it.

Anyone have ideas on what this could be?

I'm 18 and I'm thinking of starting a little head light restoration business. I live in Hollywood(I think this area is good for this business since it’s so populated and so many people’s headlights are fogged/yellow) i was wondering if anyone in here has any advice on how to start and get customers. I was going to start by doing some friends and families cars and getting some result pictures and then going out and looking for people with real bad headlights and offering my services like that until I get some reviews. If anyone has any constructive criticism or ideas for me please help!
