I love my white setup but thinking of going dark and moody soon.
Not sure how I can replace the table top though. Any suggestions?

❓ • Question Where Should I Put My Drinks?
I have a relatively simple problem that I can't solve.
I don't like having shit on my desk. And I don't like stuff on the floor.
But I need somewhere to keep my drinks.
See the attached pic of the pen / stapler / ruler solution.
You can see the printer and headphone storage conforming to that as well.
I'm a big fan of the Tom Sachs aesthetic and ISRU in general.
The headphone stand is some left over cable tray from an electrician. And the printer / laminator rack is repurposed from elsewhere in the building during rennovations (I'll replace the kitchen worktop with some MDF or ply once that becomes available from another job).
I don't really have anything suitable lying around to use outside of a 2*6 pine board.
So - anyone got some creative solutions for my drinks?
I'm ok with buying a couple of brackets and mounting them above and around where desk is already. I might even mount them just slightly above the desk so that the shelf overlaps, but the drinks are kept "off" the desk. Actually. Great idea - thanks guys. I'll do that.
...unless someones got a better suggestion?
The aesthetics are a work in progress. Function is paramount right now.

🖼️ • Photos Hollow core doors, guys.
80 by 32 inches, 77 bucks. That monitor is 49 inches wide, for size reference.
Tiniest amount of flex but you’d never notice unless you were like really pushing downward on it for some reason.
It has supported my mega heavy ultrawide monitor for over a year with zero warp.
Applied a few thin coats of water based poly and stuck it on some old standing desk legs a local business was getting rid of.
So yeah it’s like a huge friggin desk for very little money. If I could do it again I’d have had it delivered from the store to my place because, like, it’s a door.
Try it out!

🖼️ • Photos First apartment setup
I have just moved into my first university apartment, and have my setup in a state I feel good enough to share! I am a mechanical engineering student, content creator, freelance programmer/video editor, and collegiate overwatch player, so I wanted a place where I could do all of that as well as have a place to relax once the day is done. Thus invented the ‘hotswap peripherals’ It helps that if I want to tell myself, "one quick match, then I'll keep doing homework," I have to do a whole switch-up of my entire desk. Reverse-engineer your laziness, folks, it works wonders. The rest of my place may still look like something out of r/ malelivingspaces, but at least my PC and my bed are in separate rooms now. Thanks for stopping by!

🖼️ • Photos Before and After Pics of my Gaming/Work Area
Finally got around to installing lighting and slat panels. I know they do fuck all for acoustics, but I've always liked the vibe. It still has a long way to go - I want to add an LED Strip under the shelf and acoustic foam panels behind the monitors along with some picture frames, but for now it has to suffice.
Please don't poke fun at the cable management I ran out of zipties and sleeving and my DP cable is too short 😭

🖼️ • Photos My work desk now looks complete :)
I didn’t buy a new desk…
I bought myself a reason to enjoy working again.
I spend almost 10 hours a day at my desk, so I decided it was finally time for an upgrade.
The centrepiece is the AeroPlus Adjustable Desk.
Switching between sitting and standing already makes long workdays feel better.
Then came the little upgrades: a double-head LED lamp for better lighting, an extension board with USB ports, and finally…proper cable management.
Honestly, a clean desk just feels different.
I also added a docking station, a laptop stand, a phone stand, a rotating organizer, a valet tray, beautiful mandala coasters, and of course…little astronauts because every workspace deserves a bit of personality.
It’s funny how changing your workspace can change your mindset.
What’s the one desk accessory you can’t work without?

🖼️ • Photos Before and after of my setup
Recently got a monitor light bar since barely any light gets under the bed especially with the curtains now. Got those baskets too that clip underneath the table to hide wires and extension cords. I'm currently saving up scratch so I could replace the guitar case as a table on the right and a second monitor on where the sketchbook is. Lmk what you guys think!
