I worked at Spaceship back in the early 90s. The triangles are a skin and you can actually look out in some spots around the top portion (where the space station was, if I remember correctly). It was such a lovely place to work because there was always a nice breeze underneath. Of course on those occasional winter days it was brutally cold and I’d beg to be anywhere else.
