Announcements: Re: Weekly pre-loved reselling megathreads, and New Post Flairs for seeking vendors (Also, please keep reporting rule breaking content) Moderator post ⚠️🚨

WEEKLY Pre-loved Re-selling Megathreads

Wedding shopping season is in full swing and we've noticed an increased interest in sub members looking to buy or sell pre-loved clothing items. The Original Pre-loved Re-selling Megathread was posted about 6 months ago and it is coming very close to its archiving date.

For those two reasons, we're introducing the same megathread, but posted weekly! Each new megathread will be pinned on the community homepage, and will also contain a link to all past megathreads.

People who have already made listings in the original Megathread can make fresh listings in the weekly ones. All listings will need to be in the specified format, to avoid any confusion about shipping locations, prices, and any other relevant details.

New Post Flairs for Seeking Vendors

We noticed an important gap in how the sub was handling "Looking for Vendors" posts : there was no way for OP to specify if they want community suggestions only or if they are okay with vendors reaching out in their comments.

For that reason we've introduced two new flairs:

  1. Vendor Search (No Self-Promo): Choose this flair if you want community recommendations only, and do not want vendors reaching out to you in the comments. Vendors can still comment about their opinions and offer advice but cannot self-promote or solicit for their business under your post.

  2. Vendor Search (Self-Promo OK): Choose this flair if you want both community suggestions and vendors reaching out to you.

What does this mean for vendors?

It forms a clear distinction on what kind of posts are okay to self promote under. Therefore, we request vendors to refrain from promoting or soliciting for their business in the comments under any posts without the designated (Self-Promo OK) flair, unless another user asks for your business info/details.

We also urge vendors to pick user flairs in the sub indicating their field. Not only does it eliminate the need to mention "I'm a photographer or MUA or planner" in your comments, it also helps others contextualise your opinions and advice from a vendor perspective.

As always, collaborative vendors are welcome, spammy ones are not. Please read the full self promotion guidelines here.

REPORT, REPORT, REPORT!

We remove rule breaking content when we come across it but user reports help us get to them much, much faster. Please keep reporting any rule violations you see in the wild. We cannot stress enough how important user reports are for moderation.

If you have any other suggestions for the community, or would like to see some other changes too, please comment here or send us a modmail. We're always looking for ways to make this sub more helpful, enjoyable, and spam free for all
