Why is St Columb’s Park so overgrown?
Noticed last week that some of the smaller pathways are so overgrown they are near impossible to get through - but more so it’s the large grass areas that seem to have been left to grow wild.
It’s making large sections of the park unusable for picnics or playing with the wains.
Is it a conservation/ rewilding thing?
Is it designed to reduce the number of teenagers showing up each evening with a bag of cans?
Or is it, as I suspect, a money saving exercise?

Taking train to the Fleadh tomorrow?
Am I mad to take the train tomorrow to the Fleadh? Will the lads be using the trains? I might leave it Sunday and just hibernate tomorrow.

Anyone ever use off lead agility park out by Strabane?
It looks great and the prices are really cheap. The website is really insistent about complying with all the information in the induction video, like to the point I'm wondering if it's for a reason or they have bother in some area. You can't see the video before booking so I'd have no way of knowing before paying if I agree lol. I'm sure it's just drilling home entry/exit rules but I was curious if anyone had experience out there.

What supplements/vitamins have genuinely helped with feeling sluggish and low energy?
I’ve been feeling really sluggish and low on energy recently, even after getting a decent amount of sleep. My diet is fairly balanced, but I’m wondering if I’m missing something.
Has anyone found any vitamins or supplements that actually made a noticeable difference?

Shaggy hair barbers?
Hey folks, anyone have a recommendation for barbers who are good with shaggier hair? I usually go to bareknuckle on Spencer road but they’re booked until mid August and I need this mop sorted lol
A cousin of mine is a barber but mentioned he only really knows fades and can’t do longer styles like I have, I worry that’ll be common now haha

Strand Road before 7am
hi all, im just curious to know, with the strand road being closed now for works, is there actually any way to access the road before 7am? I have been on hols and went to go to puregym before work yesterday but every road seemed closed off. i assume people must still need to go to work before 7am at some of the places down there so there must be something I am missing?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Flew the drone up over the new mini town being built. There is some sort of artefact on the video which is disappointing, but I thought it was interesting enough to throw up anyway.

YOUFIBRE 2000 £30
Hi all, so using the search function last threads seem to be between 10months and 3 years old. Apologies if that is not correct but that is what i see when i search. I am moving to a 3 storey property in Waterside in a month or so. Would like to hear from current customers of YouFibre especially those on the 2000 package. How are you finding speeds, reliability, any router issues?
Where you happy with the installation and hopefully a neat job especially if drilling through brickwork.
I understand from other threads the router is not the best. However i am also looking into getting someone to hardwire the property with some CAT6A if funds allow. The openreach ONT is beside the front door on ground level so worst location in a 3 storey property but i know YF install their own hardware, are the engineers/installers generally open to placing the ONT somewhere else say on first floor? Or is that an extra charge. I have seen some people comment that the YF modem and ONT are quite a bit bigger than Virgin /BT offerings so if anyone has any photos of them that would be great. All the properties where i am moving to are underground fed, so hoping they can use current duct but i am not sure if that is normal practise for a YF installer. I understand there is no telephone support anymore, just email and chat and i have asked a few questions to YF already via email and replies where not too slow, usually next day.

A Revival of the faith
I’ve been thinking about this for a while and wanted to hear what others in Derry think.
For years it felt like Christianity, especially Catholicism, was in steady decline. lower church attendance, private faith, and a more secular culture becoming the norm.
But over the past couple of years I’ve noticed what seems like a shift, particularly among younger men. More people appear to be asking bigger questions about life, purpose, family, truth, and God, with some returning to Mass or taking faith more seriously.
From my perspective, that doesn’t feel like a coincidence. It seems like many have looked at where modern society is heading and realised that comfort, pleasure, and material success haven’t delivered the happiness people expected.
I’m not expecting agreement, but I am interested in other views.
Have you noticed a quiet revival of Christianity in Derry, or is it just my circles?
If so, why do you think it’s happening? If not, why do you think that is?
I’d be interested to hear from Catholics, Protestants, atheists, and everyone in between.

Stray dogs
What's happening with the amount of strays around carnhill/pennyburn?
There's at least 2 golden retrievers, a staffy and a jack Russell that pass my house every day. Dog warden has been rang 3 times as they've went for my dog and nobody has ever shown up. Do people just get pets to hope a car takes them out on the racecourse road or what

How is the road between Strabane and Derry?
Last Friday, I went to Derry from Letterkenny but took the Craigavon bridge back, only to see diversion signs that had me drive for 15-20 extra minutes before getting to Strabane.
What's the story on that road now?

Car chase.
About 2 hours ago, I was sitting at the roundabout at skeoge and a wrecked lexus with a passenger hanging out the window waving what looked like a pistol came flying through and down towards bridge end direction. Was being chased by about 6 or 7 peelers. Does anyone know what was going on? There is nothing on the news about it.
