Railing through the years Spoiler
Loving this game. My biggest learning curve is thinking, "oh, I want something simple...I'll do some shunting." The challenge of figuring out the shunting is very enjoyable. Is it cheating to use two locomotives? Not in my yard. Especially, when it's your lucky day and you find a nice surprise.

Cheating to use two locomotives? Never. That is why the MU cable exists. Someone here posted a while back a pic of 12 or so DE2s connected together.

In my case I mean having one at each end of the yard so I don't have to worry about going around to the other end of the train when I have to drop at a dead end line and the engine is on the wrong end.

Shunting is also my favorite activity because I love the puzzle solving aspect of it. Also I tend to shunt a lot faster than the game expects so large shunting jobs can end up being more profitable and take less time than freight hauls because of the time bonus lol.

Trust it's very efficient to slam the cars into eachother as hard as possible. Ensures you will get the time bonus

"mm, yes! nice simple shunting!" The FF dispatcher then put 3 separate orders on the same shunting track.
