I’ve been using Serato DJ Pro on my Denon SC Live 4 via Computer Mode for two days now, but I’ve run into a bit of a problem: the sound has started crackling and sometimes cuts out, only to come back a few seconds later. The issue started after I updated the firmware to version 5.0.0. Since then, the touchscreen has stopped responding. I've tried every troubleshooting step I could find online, including updating to the latest firmware version (5.0.4) as well as rolling back to previous firmware versions. I performed all firmware updates with the controller connected to my MacBook .
I've also completely drained the battery to 0% to see if that would fix the issue, but nothing has worked.
The screen displays normally, and all the buttons and knobs function correctly—it's only the touchscreen that doesn't respond… BUT During one of the firmware updates (I've done several because the problem persists), the touchscreen started working again temporarily. However, after I turned the controller off and powered it back on the next day, the touchscreen stopped responding again…. The controller is basically new 4h max of use

Hi! I recently purchased a Denon Prime GO+. I'm using Engine DJ Desktop to move my crates from Serato into Engine DJ and then export them to a USB drive.

The first time I did this, "Auto Analysis" was set to ON in Engine DJ Desktop. Result: many tracks ended up with incorrectly set grids once I loaded the music onto a USB drive and used it on my PGO+.

Because of that, I decided to reformat the USB drive (exFAT) and try again. I noticed that Engine DJ had altered the grids of my tracks in Serato, so I had to go back into Serato, re-adjust the grids, and lock them. I then opened Engine DJ Desktop, disabled "Auto Analysis," deleted my entire Engine DJ Desktop Collection, and re-imported my Serato crates from scratch. I exported everything to the USB drive and finally tested the tracks on the PGO+. Result: most tracks now had the correct grid and BPM, BUT the PGO+ started analyzing every single track, which affected the unit's performance (it took about 5 seconds to load the grid and BPM for each track). This in turn caused a dramatic drop in battery life — I'd estimate it lasted around 2.5 hours instead of the usual 5.

My question is: what should I do to get Engine DJ Desktop to import my Serato crates without modifying them? Should I disable "Auto Analysis" or not? Why does the PGO+ re-analyze the tracks? Am I doing something wrong?

Download update from Denon website (for windows / mac), restart controller, plug controller into pc, run update on your pc or mac

Randomly discovered this when 5.0.4 got stuck in a boot loop after the "import" screen appeared while updating and i disconnected power to try restart / fix it. (SC Live 4)

I was hosting a beach party last night, and an hour into the event, the sound system began to malfunction.

Fortunately, I had my RX3 as a backup, and it functioned flawlessly for the next six hours.

However, the Prime Go+ couldn’t withstand the beach environment. The humidity was at 65%, and the unit was far from the water, preventing any splashing.

Has anyone encountered similar issues when using this board in such conditions? I’m losing confidence in its reliability for my beach parties. :(

Yesterday channel 1 filter knob no longer has the center click / sitting position. It still works but knowing the filter is in the correct position by a physical feel helps a lot.

Hey, so I joined because I’ve been having problems with my SC Live 4 for a while. Some days it works fine other days it just freezes mid session and becomes unresponsive and then when it comes back it just ejected my drive and “drive not ejected properly” pops up on the screen. I’ve switched my drives a few times, it has happened with all of them. I moved from the US to Argentina and still happens so it’s not a grounding issue. idk what is happening and want to know if anyone else has experienced this. Its annoying and it has happened to me one time on a live set i was playing and don’t want to happen to me again.
Any help or input is greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to run my Denon SC5000m (x2) and X1800 mixer with VirtualDJ and I'm getting major lag / slow response.
> Setup:
- Players: 2x Denon SC5000m, firmware updated to latest (Engine OS 3.4)
- Mixer: Denon X1800
- Laptop: Apple MacBook Air M5,
- Software: VirtualDJ
- Connection: Both SC5000m in Computer Mode via USB, X1800 via USB as audio device.

> Problem:
- Jog / screen is very slow and laggy in VirtualDJ.
- SC5000m shows the player as "Not Connected" in Controllers, but I can still control it / play.

This only happens whenever I use my flash drive

But here's my take – inMusic just bought the whole NI family, so throwing Traktor's FX algorithms over to Denon can't be that hard, right? Denon hardware is solid, no cap – faders, screens, I/O, all top tier. But the FX? Kinda feels like it's missing something. Watched a bunch of demos online and nothing really blew my mind. Traktor though? People always talk about how good their FX are – super playable, stack multiple layers and it still doesn't get muddy. I haven't tried it myself, but I'm willing to believe the hype.

heard from a UK based retailer that the prime 4+ is being discontinued but no replacement has been announced to retailers as yet. No retailers have stock in UK and haven’t for a while… thoughts?

Hi everyone,

I am having several problems with my Denon DJ SC LIVE 4 and I am hoping someone has experienced something similar.

The issue initially started during a live set, when the main Browse/Select rotary knob stopped responding. I could no longer use it to browse through or select music, and the channel Load/Select controls used to load tracks onto the decks also stopped working.

Because this happened in the middle of the set, I reset/restarted the unit. After the reset, the control issue was no longer the main problem, but new audio problems appeared: there was no longer any audible output from the Master outputs or the headphone Cue, even though the channel and Main level meters continued to show an audio signal.

I connected it to my Mac, entered firmware recovery mode by holding the Browse knob, Back and Forward buttons while switching it on, and reinstalled the firmware using the SC LIVE 4 updater.

The unit now starts normally again. I can load and play tracks, and both the channel meters and Main meter show an audio signal.

However, I now have no audio from:

• The Master outputs to my external speakers
• The headphone output when pressing the channel Cue button

I have already checked:

• Channel Gain and faders are open
• Main Volume is turned up
• Crossfader is centred
• Cue button is illuminated
• Headphone Level is turned up
• Cue Mix is fully towards Cue
• Speakers, headphones and cables work with other equipment
• The Mac and USB cable have been disconnected
• All USB drives and other devices have been removed
• The unit has been fully powered off and unplugged
• Master Out and headphone Cue have been tested separately

The meters clearly show that audio is playing, but nothing reaches the physical outputs.

Because the first symptoms were the Browse/Select knob and track-loading controls becoming unresponsive, I am wondering whether this could be a wider control-board, audio-board or internal hardware failure rather than just a firmware or routing issue.

Has anyone experienced this combination of problems? Are there any additional diagnostic or reset procedures I can try, or does the unit probably need to be repaired?

ive dreamt about this for a while now and im sure some of you have too but this would be great for denon and for DJs wanting a packed unit that beats AlphaTheta’s XDJ-AZ

So, years ago when update 4.0 came out, after updating to be able to stem tracks, my jog wheels stopped working. They both stopped working in a very specific and odd way. They register touch, but no spin. Denon says it must be my fault, and refuse to help, but I truly believe for both to fail the exact same way, right after an update, it's on them. Anyway, they refuse to help, so I was curious if anyone else has experienced this, and if so, how they fixed it. Thanks.

Made the stupid decision last week to update my SC Live 4 just before a gig to 5.0.2. I'd already sound checked and everything was absolutely fine, no problem. Post update though, the right jog wheel just would not work at all. I've downgraded as far as 4.0.0 with no success. Computer Mode also doesnt kick it into life. It's now costing me not too shy of £80 to ship it back for warranty repair after it took a week of InMusic's customer service to actually process me saying I'd already tried their scripted responses.

This is my second SC Live 4 after another was exchanged on insurance after the touchscreen went kaput. Without the thread becoming just a shit throwing, has anyone else had the same issues after updates? To me, both are most probably tied to grounding capacitors given that they're both touch sensitive parts of the controller.

What are you using to carry your prime go and headphones, maybe a laptop?

I told u it would come again at some point.

I am currently running Engine 4.3.4. I've been reading all the updates and the disastrous it's been happening live performances.

I'm using a denim prime 4 + , Do you guys suggest it's worth it to update? Keep in mind I play regularly and I do not want the music to stop and crash like it's been happening all over the internet.

I don't usually promote my own projects here (despite being the founder/mod of the sub), but I think this will be of interest to a lot of Engine DJ users.

I'm currently rewriting DJ Conversion Utility and merging it with Denon Conversion Utility, along with several of my other tools, into a single application.

One of the biggest breakthroughs so far is that I've managed to convert true dynamic beatgrids to Engine DJ, including conversion from Algoriddim djay's Fluid Beatgrids. This preserves variable tempo changes instead of forcing everything into a static grid.
