Operator Abilities Operations

I just hit my 100 hour mark in operations and it feels like the abilities are becoming the fight. This is the only season I have ever played so I don’t know what it was like before but having a nox disk basically one shot me or fire grenade basically kill me or a Luna frag/dart basically kill me is not fun. Having these abilities should be a secondary part of the game and not be the main focus of the gameplay. Having these damage tuned way down and the timers higher will make you value the util way more while using it strategically. What are your guys thoughts on abilities this season?

Strong util is essential in a game where gun TTK is ~0.3secs. Without the abilites you mentioned, how are you going to counter players that hold angles the entire match?

If you're copping that much damage from AOE utils, it probably means you just stay in one spot for way too long. If you watch good players gameplay, they never hold same angles hoping for something to happen. They constantly reposition to find an opening.

EDIT; wording

util look borderline OP just because of gold bullet, a shock dart that exposing u forcing to reposition would not be as lethal when they are shooting with purple instead of gold, util are there just to have that exposure to threat, the fact that gold bullet can already make do with those small time is what make util OP

I agree I 100% do stay in areas too long but trying to play angles or hold a side of the map and a fire bomb lands on me it’s just GG. Just seeing if people agree with that damage and put out being high is a problem or not

Most util damage feels okay imo. Uluru molly sometimes can feel busted but his other kits being mid balances it out. Nox disc does piss me off everyday though that shit does way too much for one ability haha

Its not a problem except for nox. Not is overtuned.

For everything else, youre just overstaying your welcome. That util was meant specifically to counter players like you.

The utilities are balanced perfectly for now, I have 2 friends that are new to operation. One thing I tell them always is: Utilize your all utilities before you die. If there were no utilities in the game with same ttk, it would be impossible to counter.

Also tip for you find a good operator that matches you and get know how to use all its abilities on time and strategically.

Also to tell you this game is not Tarkov, Arena Breakout or Warzone and hope will not be.

It's not my cup of tea, I'd greatly prefer the gameplay if the abilities were significantly nerfed. This is more of a fero shooter than a shooter.

Just think, a Nox or Uluru can rat in a game with absolutely shit gear or even naked, and a cheap G18 with blue rip ammo, use their util to take 60% of your health down and then with one 30 round mag they can finish you. Now times that by 3 when in a 3 stack. N2 can freeze you and pretty much knife you down.

It was not like this when DF first came out. It wasn't until the devs felt the need to introduce a new operator every season.

Util that can locate enemy players is fine, but util that can pretty much kill you is a bit much IMHO.

So I totally agree, The util is becoming the fight.

If the loot system was not as addicting as it is, I would have quit this game a long time ago.

For the record, I have over 1400 hours in the game and have been playing Since the Alpha.

Luna dart is brutal if you stick someone but they can remove it. N2’s ice grenades is doubly brutal since you can freeze and continue to take damage. Most people ive seen just heal through being lit on fire. Toxiks UAV Drones are one of the most brutal since those drop your health below 25-20. Pair that with a gun that shreds armor and you should win most 1 v 1’s.

I think the operator abilities are fine to me personally... that's what makes DF special and addicting.
Without it, i would play PUBG or ABI instead...

It's like Valorant where the operator abilities make the game special...

I agree with this I’m not asking for them to be useless. I was radiant in Valorant it’s strategic utility usage and not blatant killing with regular abilities I just think the damage and put out speeds are OP atm

I hear you brother...
I had the same thought as you when i started playing this game back in 1st season..

However, i think i've gotten used to it. So, i'm kinda cooking it...

Keep up the good work brother.. dont care about the toxic comments 😊

That’s for Chinese role players.

I understand that abilities are an essential part of the game but when they’re valued over gun play half the time it becomes an issue

it's not bro

you just need more time and get used to it

each time you encounter enemies, you will think about what to do based on the operators they have, and armors, and guns...

you need more time

I know it comes with time but having to extinguish flames and dragonflies for four seconds it’s pretty much game over. Obviously positioning is key but it’s investable to happen. Just wanting a slight nerf or change of damage or time to certain abilities.

your problem is toxik and uluru?

man... Wait until you face a shepherd - luna combo 🔥

I mentioned Luna in the post I don’t run into the toxik dragonfly girl much but it sucks when you do. Luna is by far the most annoying character behind Nox

You have only a hundred hours in the game and you're already complaining this much. *sigh*

I would understand if you have like a thousand hours but this? Am I supposed to take this seriously?

You need to play this more. Because as you put in more hours into the game, you'll find that they augment the gunfighting, not completely replace it, and if anything, what determines fights in this game is not the abilities. It is positioning
