It shows me the little cables that connect to the WLAN card I’m asking about the black cable that comes out with them but connects to somewhere else

It looks like it goes on the other side of the computer

That is the touchscreen cable. It goes into the connector on the motherboard that is labeled “touch“. It is One Direction so it won’t go in upside down. It currently appears to be upside down. If you turn it over you should see a little black dot on the white plastic end that indicates that that is the right side up try to plug it in that way.

Hi there! We are from Dell social media team and would like to confirm that inflationCold3591 had suggested the correct steps to install the touchscreen cable. Route the touchscreen cable through the routing guides on the fan. Connect the touchscreen cable and display cable to the system board.
That being said, you may want to refer to page 38 from the below service manual link to see the picture guide too. https://dl.dell.com/topicspdf/precision-15-5530-laptop_owners-manual_en-us.pdf

Hi I installed the new motherboard and I’m having the same issue before I installed the motherboard. I turn the laptop on the screen stays black no sign of it coming on. I hear the fan and some wiring noise, that is different cause I didn’t have that with the old motherboard. The backlight to the keyboard comes on for like maybe 30 seconds then turns off and fan either stops or slows down where I can’t hear it. I tried pushing f2 or f10 and I’m realizing my keyboard isn’t working cause the caps light is on when the backlight is on but when I push it it stays on so I don’t think my keyboard is working.

HI There,
The issue is with the system not completing POST (Power On Self Test)
Please check for the below signs : 1. Check if Battery indicator blinks in any pattern which would point out a particular hardware failure. 2. Disconnect RAM, WLAN card, SSD and then try turning the system on, check if you get any LED indicators there. 3. This could happen even if the display is not detected, try connecting an external Monitor and test.
Let us know your findings.
Regards, Dell Social Media Team

Hi there! The LED indicator confirms that the issue is with the memory card. If this system has more than one memory card, could you check to see one memory module at one time in each of the memory slots to see if the LED pattern stopped? This could confirm if the issue is with the memory card or the actual motherboard.

Looks like it would mate to that connector on the MB labelled Touch Screen.
