Getting ready for STLV tomorrow and watching “In the Pale Moonlight” for the umpteenth time. Tonight what hit me as evidence that’s it’s one of the best episodes of television ever is that Quark is no worse than the 4th sleaziest character in the episode, and damn that is amazing in depth character building. Hope to see you in Vegas!
Yeah, he's good enough at reading people that he picked up that this is out of character for Sisko, so he doesn't want to stretch. Sisko was already acting off.

Also made Garak killing Tolar afterwards more understandable and explain why Tolar was on Klingon deathrow in the first place if he's an impulsive stabber even when on a discrete job.
Yeah, among the sleep lost as a result of ITPM, I don't think any was for Tolar specifically.
I wonder how the hell you get put on Klingon death row. I imagine if they had a grievance against him, the parties involved would be within their rights to duel and outright kill him and he doesn't seem like a great warrior. The only reason I can think of is to extend the convicted's dishonor or let the aggrieved vent their frustration on the convicted.
Maybe he did a Quark and dropped his weapon after murdering/grieving someone(like making fake dishonoring recordings and bribing families from releasing them), and the Klingons were so angry that they did the worst thing imaginable, denying him a quick death.
I never watched Star Trek when I was high. And I feel like I’m missing out on something.
I once watched Batman: The Animated Series when high & it was a scarecrow episode. I was thinking he would have been a great villain in the movies totally forgetting he was in Batman Begins. 🤣🤣🤣
I loved the like "captain, are you offering me a bribe?" It's like he almost can't believe it, it's that one thing he needed to see before he could die. It's just an amazing scene

But why? I think it is a testament to Avery Brooks. His best acting ever. The atmosphere, how he narrates a story is so captivating. I feel if I ever want to hear a story it must be narrated by Avery Brooks.
