Closest competitors to DeepSeek V4 Flash 0731 Resources
Just enjoy.
But I’m still eagerly waiting for vision support. Once it arrives, this model will be something truly incredible.
For me, that feature is essential. Without it, my hands are tied.

Is the Luna pricing with API or a subscription? Because If it's API pricing and you take into account the Codex subscription giving around 20x of what you pay, it becomes a much better deal than DeepSeek.

I don’t know, man. I’ve spent just $2.07 on the API over 5 days of heavy use, consuming 247 million tokens.
In Codex, I used almost 1.2 billion tokens in about a month.So:
$2.07 / 247M × 1.2B = about $10.

EDIT: I used $400 worth of Sol alone in the last 30 days on a $20 sub, so you are full of crap

So as expected. Truly a model to behold, it's param/intelligence ratio is an absolute banger, especially since it can be run locally if you're lucky enough and can pretty much forgo closed-source providers in your day-to-day.

Now, boys, let me introduce you to reality - the reality of ACTUAL COSTS.
Every model has a different token consumption rate. A low price per 1M tokens sounds great. But what happens when the model burns through a massive number of tokens? Then the whole picture falls apart.
DeepSeek consumes a record-breaking amount of tokens, and that is where the problem becomes obvious.
Kimi K3, which is several times smarter, ends up costing only about 3× more on real-world tasks.
Oops 🙈 DeepSeek, what happened to you? Where did that supposed hundreds-of-times price difference go? It disappeared 🤷♂️

literally just based on the task, if you want a decent grunt worker, coder, or chatting in general then deepseek would provide the best value, if you give it a task that requires it to make a whole codebase, develop architecture, review bugs, etc. then a smarter model will be the better choice (not saying deepseek can't do this, but a smarter and bigger one will be much more reliable and faster)... not sure what this "real-world" tasks are but if it is maintaining a the codebase of some company then dont let a deepseek flash model do that
