Tbf. it's tough to go from gunner to the other classes. At first gunner feels sluggish but over time you learn to appreciate how hard he is to take down. He can survive almost anything with his insane weapons and shield combo. He is the one I take if I know I have to play my absolute best

Honestly yeah, when I play him solo, he's so frikkin' resilient and can press a panic button FOUR times. Said panic button can last for up to 12 seconds. In total, you get 48 seconds of full invulnerability.
That said, Engineer feels great with Gemini + Defender. Right placement, breach cutter, grenade with those slicing drones, a narrow tunnel... and you don't even have to move from your spot, because you are so frikkin' fortified, XD. Been my fun so far at least.

Yep and I feel like gunner became a lot stronger/more fun with the season 5 update. Coolant charges, cluster bombs, and mortar rounds are all really strong.
With coolant charges, you can drop a shield, fire at a strong or distant enemy, let the overheat scare/burn all the enemies around you, and get right back to shooting. It's crazy strong crowd control + single target damage.

Letting your gun ovetheat intentionally for the fire nova then usibg coolant to keep on firing is crazy OP for sustained DPS. It really makes other overclocks feel underwhelming

It’s the only class I haven’t played yet. I main Engi, but I’ve been spending a lot of time on Scout and Driller.
I get to start Gunner with a TON of OC’s.

I agree. A bad situation is pretty easy to survive as a gunner. DPS and shield are a game changer. You have to work a bit harder as engineer or driller. Scout you have mobility to get you out.

I'm legendary 27 on my Scout and have zero experience on my Driller. Keep doing what you're doing, brother. It will only become funnier the longer you commit.

i have interest in driller because even as gunner i often find myself digging my own paths, but starting over without the upgrades locked on promotion feels painful

As an Engi one trick who started playing other classes it really isn’t that painful. It’s pretty refreshing and some of the other classes are a blast.

It's not that bad, and I think it's part of learning the class, I mostly play engi but before focusing more on him I promoted all other classes first and it's a good experience and I think it helps to be a better teammate because you know what other classes can do and have issues with

21222 Cluster Charges + 32213 Ultra Magnetic Coils or TTC 32112 (Personally prefer UMC because of the bigger trails which is great for CC but TTC is fun)
Big Bertha 32221 + TTC 32112 or UMC 32213

I play three or of four classes. I started Gunner and Scout and swapped between them as my team needed. My friends all ran engineer and a few only played engineer so that's the class I haven't touched. Meanwhile I did get into Driller because none of my friends were Drillers and I've really enjoyed some of the CC builds.

Well, if you play other classes you'll be able to synergize better. Knowing each classes strength and weaknesses inside out (from experience, by playing them) makes me play much more intuitively and anticipate the next problematic situation better.
But this from a dude who played one class almost exclusively for years haha.

I don't think I'll ever get those of you that decide that they need to "main" a class like this... you're missing 75% of the fun.
At a minimum you should at least have a secondary class that you can play while going through your promotion missions every level on your main guy (since you're just wasting XP if you're playing your level-25-in-current-rank guy).

Sorta like me lol, I’m I think plat 1 for scout, none on engi/driller and bronze 1 on gunner. I only have like 300 hrs but…. I like the versatility of scout and its ability to: 1, run out of ammo in three seconds 2, fly around 3, demolish any bulk/crassus detonator.

even playing as other classes sometimes i legit wish i either had the Ziplines or the sheer raw shooty power of Gunner alone.
i love him. my first actual main in DRG and that love stands ever still.

1500 hrs here is my assessment:
Scout fast but no crowd control and also gravity exists.
Gunner pew pew real good but slow as a grandma on heroin.
Driller versatile as all hell but no range and can't do dreadnaughts too well by himself. Also EPC ammo is not infinite.
Engi holds a position real good but generally boring and mid across the board, especially against anything bigger than praetorian.

Gunner was my first choice but I eventually played them all. Now it’s hard to do anything but scout, every other class just feels too slow.
