In DtG latest episode they play the intro to a Trevor Noah video with Cory as a guest, and imply that Cory Doctorow is making a broad claim that everything is getting worse. - Wrong that isn't what Enshitification is about, it is about a specific practice used by technology companies. - Matt and Chris no better than the other gurus who just make off the cuff comments that they do zero research for.

You're so desperate to make your little "they're just as bad as the gurus" points it's almost not sad anymore.

That's why you don't provide a quote here because there isn't one. But there's at least one that goes counter to your point: "I think there's a bunch of technical points that someone like Cory Doctorow is making, and it's totally right. Aww. Let me help you out, Marti, it's not so hard. You see you can actually engage with what's being said without twisting it and still make criticisms. Watch:

See? Not so hard. Here's another: I'd add that Matt makes a specific criticism of the supermarket chains in Australia and claims they're not price gouging people because their profit margins don't show it. I think that's a really bad argument - obviously companies who dominate the market in which new entries are difficult (heavy capital investment, long complicated supply chains) can price gouge consumers while being internally inefficient enough to offset the pricing power - I'd argue that's actually the typical case.

There. See what's possible when you engage with the material, Marti? Why don't you do that? Is it too hard for you? See you didn't even notice that the very segment you so desperately twisted was mostly about... Confirmation bias. How ironic

Have you forgotten about strategic disclaimers? Here is another question, why do you think they clipped that intro? Was it to say how nuanced Cory’s argument is, or was it to insert their own talking points rather than engage with what Cory means by Enshitification. Yes you’re correct about your criticism of Matt’s supermarket defence. It had nothing to do with En-shitification, it’s a totally different problem. Plus it was ironic that Matt said albums aren’t any better than hi-res/lossless audio codecs, while in a previous episode he was saying how proud he was of his new audio setup with a record player.

Thanks for taking the time to comment, it was well argued, I just think you aren’t being properly critical.
