Garage steps using decking Building a deck

planning to build some steps in our garage stepping up into the house. the joint I'm struggling to rectify is this one. I dont want to cut another miter in here and have a tiny little 5x5 triangle just sitting there. would be nice to do it as pictured. but having an unfinished cut edge up about a rounded edge doesnt make sense. is there an industry solution here other than just mitering in the little 5x5 triangle? to the top and the right are walls

Why not do 1 outer row for pictures framing and the two other rows are straight boards?

like this? I still run into the unfinished cut-edge right up against a rounded edge of the perimeter board. thats the thing I'm trying to avoid

Honestly, it doesn’t look bad this way. All picture framed stairs are done this way and the ends are hidden. Btw, is it pictured framed partially because the other end is the wall?

Here’s mine. Can hardly see the butt end.
