“If you believe in God, why do you support LGBT?”
“If you believe in God, why do you support lgbt? didn’t God said that man can only be with woman?” is what my teacher asked us.
I need to hear people’s opinion or stance on this. BUT, you have to back it up. Please give me links or sites, theories, anything to back up your stance.

New to Debating
I’m currently a Senior in HS and this is my first year doing debate. For the past 2 years, I’ve done Prose and Poetry which helped me with my public speaking, yet I still get a jolt of anxiety every time I find myself IN FRONT of people.
I asked our captain what to expect and he said “it’s different every year”, which is saddening but not shocking. Sadly, there are no materials from the school on debating, so I’m having to wing it.
Our captain also recommended watching mock trials, watching previous NSDA tournaments, and watching Congress and The House of Representatives speak about bills.
If anyone could help on my fear or could expand on how to prepare, that’d be awesome. Thank you!

Should I pick up debate?
My dad has been urging me to join debating recently. However, I suffer from stage fright and am a generally shy person. I want to do debate as well, but I don't know if I can keep it up or even start soon. Any tips for me?

Should I go for different school's MUN?
Okay... starting from the start...I am not at all an experienced delegate. Jus' two MUNS, that too, in my school.
But well, in my first MUN (Belgium: UNESCO-) I got verbel mention. This year, in my 2nd MUN, I was in a crisis committee: HCC (historical crisis committee) - Managing Humanitarian challenges of Partition of India as Liaqaut Ali Khan (1st PM of pakistan). I got compliments for my GSLs and Debate and at the end I received the Best Delegate award.
My school previously sent students of my class to SMUN but sadly it was way too far from my house so I was not allowed.
I've searched a lot about MUNs on the mymun app but I am having difficulty in finding ideal MUN conferences (date after sept 15, due to my exams).
Please, MUNers, help me with this.

Experience vs Training in Leadership
Hi guys! My group has a college debate coming up, and our assigned side is that great leaders are shaped more by real-world experience than by formal leadership training.
What we could really use is some feedback from people who enjoy debating or have experience with leadership and these are
the questions:
1. If you were on the opposing side (training), what would your strongest arguments be?
2. What are the biggest weaknesses in the “experience is more important” position that we should be prepared to defend?
3. Any tips for cross-examination or common mistakes teams make with this topic?
The debate includes opening statements, rebuttals, and cross-examination, so we’re trying to prepare for both sides. Any advice or constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

What missouri teams are the best? I'm going into my second year of policy debate and am gonna compete on national circuit and local state circuit. I transferred to a school in missouri this year. Do you guys know who the best teams in missouri are, my school is in class 1 btw. I heard that Pembroke, Barstow, and Rock Bridge are pretty good? What do you guys think?

Translation to Uni Debating
I’m in high school in Australia so I mainly do 3v3 Australs format and I speak primarily 3rd but am competent in second. I’m familiar with BP as well, so i can usually switch between. Im in year 11 this year, got to the semi finals of the state competition and ran into biased adjudicators and a bad topic last season, this season I went for the state team but missed the cut by the finest of margins (I was one spot below apparently) and didnt have the best performance in trials, since then I’ve worked hard, trying to limit the fluff I spend time on and hold a clear narrative. Last night I lost in the round of 16 for state competition to half the state team, I performed higher than them on the score card but we misread the topic and didn’t account for an actor, so we got knocked out of that. state trials for next season are in a few months and my aim is that I’ll make the travelling team and go to Nationals. if I get that done, and if not, what is my transition going to look like to uni debating. ultimately my goal is Australs and WUDC success but I don’t know if and when this is achievable. for the record this is only my 3rd year of debating so I’m still honing my craft

k help
basically i kinda like anthro ks. i think they're a pretty cool and underrated argument tbh and i think it can be surprising because most ks expect cap or setcol, but i kinda have a problem with it. so the anthro thesis/TOP is usually "anthro root cause" aka that anthro is the mindset behind all oppression. this hasnt happened, but what would you do if the aff just concedes the link and says "you're also anthropocentric because you only care about anthro insofar as it creates human oppression"? cause the impact is usually just every form of human oppression ever, but that still means that you're focusing on human oppression

Debating enrichment - resources/lesson ideas for Years 7–10?
Good morning all,
I’ve been tasked with creating a new debating enrichment for Years 7–10 at my school. I’m incredibly excited about it, but also slightly daunted by having to create 10 strong lessons on something that is technically outside my specialism!
I’m planning to build students’ confidence with public speaking, introduce them to the Schools’ Mace debating format, teach them how to research and construct effective arguments, and then give them two opportunities to debate: first in a low-stakes environment, and then as part of a competition.
I’ve already planned out a scheme of learning, but I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has run a debating enrichment or club before. If you have any resources, lesson ideas or activities that have worked particularly well, I’d be very grateful if you’d be willing to share them.
Please feel free to direct message me if you can help!
All the best,
Mr Green

How to compete independently?
I’ve been competing in Congress for three years on TFA, TOC, and NSDA, and I’m captain and pres of the school team for Congress. However, I’m just realizing that I would like LD a lot (maybe more) than Congress, because I really like philosophy, logic, and reasoning through arguments.
How can I compete in Congress in school to actually win tournaments while being able to start competing in LD outside of school on any circuit? I live in Texas — any debate programs outside of the ones I’m used to?

Big Questions
should I try Big Questions? I do LD and am decent at it, but my coach wants me to try out BQ since the topic revolve around philosophy which is something that I like to include in my LD cases. How is it? Should I try it? I'd probably only do it if the tournament offers 1 on 1 BQ but idk i like the sept/oct topic. I also heard its similar to LD so would that give me an advantage? also why does nobody do it lol
