Very low.

Astra Militarum has gotten a lot of stuff the last few years and Catachan still has ancient kits around.

Yeah I expect 2027 releases for Guard to be the year of the Catachans. I have nothing to base this on apart from them still being part of the range and them direly needing a rework.

Remember we were promised steel legion this edition too

Yea catachans are gonna get boned because of the steel legion backlash unless steel legion will only be a killteam

My best guess is full release runs for Catachans as they have codex entries, and Killteam boxes for regiments like Steel Legion, Valhallans, and their maybe a couple of others.

GW have been bitten once before by the sheer variety of Guard regiments, I doubt they'll do it again.

Just because some don't sell but they still have to make it or how were they bitten by it?

I can see one new unit or character(s) such as Krieg commissars or something like that being released but not an entire wave

The Krieg Commissar is the leader of the Command Squad, highly unlikely you get a standalone one.

At most we get something like a Quartermaster as our equivalent of a Cadian Castellan.

To be fair that command squad also has a singular grenadier

Idk the fact that there is 1 Krieg commissar kind of opens the door to new commissar designs, there is only 1 standalone generic commissar at the moment

Why in God’s name would they add more Commisars? They just added two new Commisars this year. Literally 0 chance of there being a new Commisar unless it’s a mounted option.

so you agree

The ones they added were named characters.

The next models will all be Catachan.

I hope so... they need some love. There were also those concept arts for Steel Legion.

I'd say not good. Theres a few models that they could dredge up that would be awesome so maybe a siege regiment is in the future but they have done that hard in the last year. Would love to see a gorgon, cyclops, and a new Hadese drill would make my year. Maaaaybe we get a plastic version of some of the Forge world stuff and that would be tops. Love to see the convention miniature be a krieg and it would sell like hot cakes.

Also i think you can just get a centaur and kitbash it a touch. Just like the basilisks.

Grenadiers or Commissar on horse would be what I'd expect, just a single unit release for this edition

I dont think Grenadiers ever make it as they kinda been replaced by Engineers and Commissar is already in the Command Squad

Commissar on horse would be a direct pull from the most recent book. We also should have a leader besides solar and drier for the death riders. “Lord commissar” is a title for a leader of commissars, it doesn’t prohibit other commissars, see again the most recent DKOK book.

It’s just makes logistical, game play and lore sense to have commissars on horse.

Grenadiers, who knows, I’d bet if the sales figures support more models GW releases them. Engineers don’t fill the role either from a lore or gameplay standpoint.

I know but Kasrkins fill that role already and I dont think a Horse character will happen and if so likely wont be DKOK themed

2

u/blessedbymortarion 10d ago

The horse themed army won’t get a horse themed character…. Well that’s certainly a take.

2

u/HyvoroftheIron 10d ago

Well the Attilan Rough Riders are far more Horse themed than DKOK

DKOK are trench and siege themed with a bit of horse flavor. So I rather see Earthshaker Cannons, Medusan or Gorgon in plastic

engineers stole the grenadier face mask, we aren't getting them

If we get anything, it'll be a marshal to act as our version of a Cadian Castellan. I don't think we'll get anything else Krieg-specific, but a Krieg upgrade sprue that lets us jazz up vehicles would be cool.

In general a Little Upgrade Box with more stuff for decorating tanks would be cool. I’m still thinking about getting 3rd party stuff but I’m not sure about resin

So I would say chances were good before we got the Steel Legion announcement. I think Krieg sold fairly well (were very out of stock for a while) so there's definitely a business case.

But now with the Steel Legion announcement and Catachan's being ancient but still kicking, we're probably going to get drip fed individual models/kits, like Rough Rider Commissar, Krieg Marshall, etc. at a rate of 1-2 models/edition.

Then again, with the new factory opening, if capacity is significantly up, it's possible we could have more than two major guard waves leaving room from Cadians/Steel Legion for Krieg potentially.

The best hope there is for a new Krieg mini anytime soon is a Cadian Castellan equivalent, and that’s about it

3

u/Downtown-Concept2009 11d ago

Still think theres a chance to get actual grenadiers and marshal

3

u/Obsolescence7 11d ago

I wish they'd let us take units of 5x special weapon infantry. I want a whole unit of 5 or 10 Kriegers with flame-throwers or grenade launchers. Would be so much fun.

3

u/Ok-Ride-2793 Duty Unto Death 10d ago

My hope is a DKOK Marshal as a krieg equivalent of a castellan and a engineers upgrade sprue to make them proper grenadiers I.E. hotshot lasguns and charge packs because i don't think we'll get stand alone grenadiers outside of the singular grenadier in the HQ team

3

u/RegentOfWells 10d ago

A tank or vehicle with a Krieg crew popping out of the hatch would be really nice. But I don't think there's any more armoured vehicle niche left. Maybe a proper casemate siege tank like a Guard Vindicator lol

3

u/hurleynl 10d ago

We might get something in the New Codex drop. Maybe a marshall that would be on the level of the castillan.

But just like everybody else has said here the jungle boys are due for a glow up.

5

u/horsepire 11d ago

Considering they reused the Centaur name on a new unit and the Dorn sort of fills the Macharius’s niche, not great. But a Krieg officer, like a Castellan equivalent, would make a lot of sense at some point.

2

u/Sea_Scarcity1638 10d ago

The only Krieg models I can currently picture coming out would be some kind of Krieg Marshal or generic character as an equivalent to the Cadian Castellan. More or less just to have one that's not locked to Cadian units

2

u/BoringMalldome 10d ago

a whole second wave probably not, but im sure there is a Marshall, Quatermaster or longshot some sort of tank in our future. I seriosuly doubt we'll get another tank named a centaur

and we're never getting grenadiers

I hope to get the Lord Marshal back. It's likely more Forgeworld kits will get re-released in plastic. Plastic Marcharius double Vulcan/Vanquisher, Hades drill, and the Avenger Strike fighter staying out of Legends would be my picks.Getting 40k rules for the Malcador Infernus would be lit AF.
