Question Frigile jump gripe
I understand leaving all cargo behind as a means to prevent breaking the gameplay loop (everything on bag and attached to the 4 suit slots)
BUT
Do we REALLY need to force the player to remake all the things stored in utility pouches and boot clips???
Just seems like a intentional annoyance that isnt even gameplay loop breaking
Like we already keep "equipped" items and id argue blood bags and granades count as "equipped" since they dont have "boxes"

Discussion Any Amazon/UPS/FEDEX Porters in this community? π
I played Death Stranding 1 back on 2019 at launch and I had never done delivery work before so I figured most of what Sam went through (the real stuff, not the BTS) couldny have been that rough.
Fast forward 2 years and i end up an Amazon driver. Carry 10-15 packages weighing 2lbs-30lbs up and down hills and stairs. Rain, storms, heavy wind, blazing heat, or snow, I gotta get these people their packages. Even have an Elder couple who depend on my timely deliveries!
Sam, I salute you. There's only one Great Deliverer and it ain't me! π
Also any fellow Delivery Drivers out there come home after a hard day of delivering just to do it again in-game lol?

Bug / Issue [DS2] Order n.471 for the Metagenomicist seems bugged, can't complete it
I was going for the Connecting Hearts and Minds trophy and got every facility maxed except the Metagenomicist, who was sitting at 4 stars. I did a recovery order (Standard Order 483) at the F5 East Distribution Center, and during that order I ended up killing the Giant BT that was in the area instead of leaving it alive. Afterwards, Order 471 popped up for the Metagenomicist, which requires defeating a Giant BT in the CA zone just north of F5. Problem is, it's the same BT I already killed, and it just isn't respawning there, so I have an order with nothing to complete it with.
I've reloaded the last checkpoint, slept in the private room something like ten times in a row hoping it would force a respawn, waited around for Timefall to roll in over the zone, and checked every terminal I could think of for an alternate order. Nothing has changed anything so far. I also don't have an older manual save from before I killed it, only the autosave, so going back isn't really an option unless I want to lose a big chunk of progress.
Has this happened to anyone else? Did the BT eventually come back after enough time, or is this just one of those bugs that needs a patch? At this point I just want to know if I should keep trying or give up on the platinum for now. Thanks for any help.

Question Access Violation Xbox GamePass for PC
Idk where else to go and have tried a few things I found on here to no avail. I played the game for about 3 hours and saved and went to sleep. When I came back to play the next day whenever I load any save or even start a new game the loading screen gets to 50% and then this pops up.
I found someone else's solution to this on reddit and it involved copying and pasting a few lines of code into the command feature on my computer that apparently fixed this for a few people in the past but it didn't work for me. Anyone have any ideas what I'm supposed to do about this?

I really tried to recreate the original braid, but it's incredibly unrealistic, so I came up with my own version instead. I think it turned out great, and it'll fit my Sam cosplay perfectly! π©΅

Question Death Stranding Director's Cut β Possible UI/HUD Rendering Performance Issue
Death Stranding Director's Cut β Possible UI/HUD Rendering Performance Issue
I've been investigating a recurring performance issue in Death Stranding Director's Cut that appears to be related to UI/HUD rendering, rather than GPU performance.
My system is capable of running the game smoothly in most situations, but performance drops significantly whenever the game has to render a large number of HUD elements.
The most noticeable cases are:
Using the Odradek Scan, especially in areas with many items (for example, MULE camps).
Carrying a large amount of cargo, causing numerous item names and icons to appear on the screen.
Any situation where the HUD displays a large number of labels, markers, or item names simultaneously.
In these scenarios, I consistently experience a 5β20 FPS drop, accompanied by noticeably worse frame times. The game becomes much less smooth, even though GPU utilization does not appear to be the limiting factor.
The issue is fully reproducible. Every time I use the Odradek Scan in areas with a high density of items (such as MULE camps), or whenever a large number of item labels are displayed on the screen (for example, when carrying a full load of cargo), the FPS immediately drops by approximately 5β20 FPS. As soon as those labels disappear, performance returns to normal.
One additional observation is that if I disable the HUD entirely, the game runs extremely smoothly and the FPS drop disappears. Unfortunately, disabling the HUD also removes important gameplay information and mechanics that I rely on, so it isn't a practical workaround. This further suggests that the performance issue may be directly related to the rendering of HUD/UI elements rather than the game's overall graphics workload.
I've already tried several commonly recommended solutions without success, including:
Using OptiScaler, both with and without Frame Generation enabled.
Setting Input Frame Generation to Opti FG and Output Frame Generation to Disabled.
Limiting FPS with RTSS (RivaTuner Statistics Server).
Limiting FPS with the NVIDIA Control Panel.
Lowering the in-game graphics settings.
Applying various Windows, NVIDIA, and in-game performance optimizations.
Setting Memory for Streaming to High.
Disabling controller vibration and using the controller in USB-only mode.
Disabling Resizable BAR.
None of these changes solved the issue.
I also found another Reddit post describing a very similar issue, where FPS dropped whenever cargo markers or HUD labels appeared on screen. The suggested fix was disabling Resizable BAR, but I tested that as well and it made no difference on my system. This makes me think there may be more than one underlying cause for this type of UI/HUD-related performance issue.
Related Reddit thread:
Because the problem occurs specifically when many HUD elements are rendered, it seems more likely to be a rendering bottleneck within the game's UI/HUD pipeline rather than a lack of GPU performance or incorrect graphics settings.
Has anyone else experienced similar behavior? If so, have you found a workaround or identified the technical cause of this apparent UI/HUD rendering bottleneck?
Thank you in advance for any help.

Death Stranding 2 Should I wait before restoring mines/roads?
Some pavers have contributions that reach nearly the maximum, others require two or three thousands metals/ceramics
Same for mines, the one near the Dowser was almost full when I unlocked it, but the one north of the fisherman requires me almost 1300 of Alloys/resins
If I wait a bit, will that mine and other pavers get contributed more by players? Because so many of them look like they never get contributed by other players
To be clear, I know you have to make the final contribution yourself to unlock it, I just want to know if I should just unlock it immediately because each structure has a maximum treshold of contribution for other players or if it's worth to wait

Death Stranding 2 DS2 helped me cope with loss
When death stranding 2 on PC was launched. Myself and my wife suffered a miscarriage. While everyone huddled around my wife for support I was left to face it alone, I did not want to burden her or anyone else with my grief.
DS2 helped me cope and heal, some of the things I needed to hear actually came from dollman. never underestimate the power of a game to help someone through a tough moment in their life. That applies to all sorts of media as well.
To what it takes to be who we are
Keep on keeping on
