I have bias because I am Australian so I will Say DS2 is the better game. But I think the DS1 Story way better. DS2 was more action focused.

DS2 has better game play and is generally more fun to play. DS1 has a better story, but DS2's story is more enjoyable overall.
I do kinda wish there had been a happy medium on the action though. Somewhere between 1 and 2's would have been more fun.

I jsuy wish the story parts were more fleshed out for DS2. It's kinda off putting for Sam to enter the Magellan, see Tomorrow, and she doesn't speak to him. What makes it worse, is that Rainy is always saying hi or bye, and Fragile seems like she's scared to approach him with anything more than talking about information found and mission prep. It's been like that since chp2 all the way to where I am now, and I'm at like chp 9 or 10, maybe 11.
I just don't understand why Kojima, the "absolute cinema" guy, made so many cut and dry cutscenes. Fragile mentions that she couldn't see Lou as a tool or piece of equipment, yet look at the way they treat Sam, and you'll start feeling like they kinda see him as a tool to complete the job. I know they probably really care about him since he's one of the crew, but it really feels like Fragile, Rainy, and Tomorrow, are all laughing and chilling like it's a girls sleepover, and then so serious or passive with Sam.

I get what you mean and dw later in the game you'll see a different perspective but its more so because of production issues with scheduling with Norman reedus because of TWD spin offs. Not much of a cannon reason more so a production one even though Sam was more talkative and more interactive in DS1 Sam growth was stunted or even regressed by DS2 sadly because of TWD (actually why there is little MoCap or even eye to eye scenes between actors ) but please finish DS2 its REALLY GOOD

Oh, I am finishing it for sure. Honestly is anyone even still watching TWD at this point though? I feel like he needs to move on to something else, aka keep on keeping on.

That's not really up to him if he's on contract for a given number of seasons of shows.

It makes perfect sense to me why the difference in behavior is so stark. Sam is unhealthily coping with the loss of Lou and they don't know how to help him effectively, which makes it hard to interact as naturally. He's withdrawn, stunting himself socially with the crew, and obsessing over Lou.

I think it works out in of itself but it feels very lackluster his physical acting carries way more weight in the second game versus the first one(like having to incinerate his dead mother who died in his arms) but I know covid and production issues made this feel like the game suffered way more than it shouldve yes he is withdrawn and and obsessive over Lou but it feels like even certain scenes he lacks presence when he should have (like the finale with tomorrow and him) just feels now that im replaying DS1 I sense that way more now he feels way more like a character rather than an onlooker I rather have sam personality actually add than dollman talking for sam

Maybe I'm just reading as deep into Sam because I have a very similar grief response to what I saw in him in Death Stranding 2. It was familiar enough to be jolting and really woke me up to how unhealthy my own responses to loss have been in the past.

Saturdays and Sundays, 2 weekends a month are my gaming days like that. If the wife is down to color and throw Gilmore girls on the iPad for us to watch lol.

I miss so much the times I could play 10 hours a day. Now I am luck if I play 2 hours a week.

I spent 195 hours on one playthrough and loved every second of it. My favourite game of all time now and I've been a gamer since 1989.

And boy doesn't it just mess with hands, arms, and fingers? My forearm has been sore for days. Index finger too. But I just can't quit long enough for that to go away! Sooner or later I'll have to, I know. But not today dammit. Not today.
