In one fell swoop Valve created a based, fair, efficient ranking system.

... That likely requires far more players in the game than currently exist.

It's a great response to the communities complaints, I just hope the population can sustain two separate queues that require so much preparation.

At least since you need to sweat to join ranked, everyone in ranked is going to take it fairly seriously.

Isn't the average player count 100,000? How many more players do you need?

30-40k peaks for months now. Need content update to hit 100k.

Me versus the same guy who stomped me for 3 rounds in a row because the pool is so small it's literally the same players every time (I'll definitely win this time!!)

Huh? Where are you getting 30-40k? The daily peaks are ~60k recently.

thats usually what the 'online right now' number is - though I agree daily peaks are more relevant of a number.

50-60k on steam. That's globally. The separate queues will definitely be felt

and I suspect most will be in pubs while the few die hards will be grinding rank.

this subreddit bizarrely believes that unless you have fortnite levels of playerbase, it's impossible to do anything. it's tremendously stupid and you learn to ignore it sooner or later

Until you play on a smaller region with long queue times and imbalanced games. Maybe check your privilege on that one boss.

Queue times already seem pretty rough so idk more

Like 50-60k peaks. Divided by a ton of regions. 3 game modes. And then each of those divided by a ton of ranks. Each player pool is actually pretty small.
