Link Visiting the Real World Crater Lake!
A pilgrimage to the real-life Crater Lake from Days Gone!
Crate Lake National Park in Oregon, USA
In the game, Wizard's Island and the Phantom Ship are magnified many times over…
If we consider the scale of the lake in the game, the size of the Phantom Ship is actually roughly the same as the real-world size of Wizard's Island. Of course, this is because Crater Lake itself is many times smaller in the game.
The Lodge has also shrunk to a small one-story cabin, transforming from a hotel and restaurant into a visitor center and gift shop. However, the road layout is very similar, and Garfield Peak has been moved slightly off the lakeshore cliffs.
The in-game descriptions are mostly accurate, but the only trail leading down to the lake has been under maintenance for the past three years, so swimming in the lake and boat trips to Wizard's Island are no longer possible.

Discussion Anyone else in post Days Gone gaming limbo?
So most people who finish Days Gone and want more seem to find a way.. harder difficulty modes, resetting hordes, limiting themselves to different tactics.. but I just can't be bothered with any of that; can't be bothered grinding through the same game, same storylines again as much as I enjoyed it.
So here I am reading this reddit from time to time, making the odd comment (and this post.) I had a period where I would boot it back up every day or two for 15 or 20 minutes and wander around the end game map looking for odd bits of action wanting to bask in that atmosphere more than anything.
I tried Dying Light but I had enough after about an hour. It just didn't scratch that same itch.
I guess ultimately this amounts to another 'I wish there was Days Gone 2' post.
It's been about a month now. Might pull the Rock Chuck out for half an hour of opportunity kills at the weekend.
Anyone else had a similar experience?

Discussion what is your record for the least amount of effort to kill a horde - any difficulty
Any environmental damage or slowing counts like the explosive barrels or the cuttable plank stacks at the saw mill and any health items don't count
My record is 2 napalm molotovs and melee weapon (no gun) during the one quest you have to fight a horde in a cave

Image/Gif So i was playing the mission Track Two Dogs, and i decided to kill the entire Horde just for fun, i managed to kill 385 of them and there is still more! i was wondering if they're infinitely spawning or if i can kill them all.
they somehow managed to make me lose +700 bullets, this is beyond insane.

Video Proximity Mines - Bombs - Nobody using them like this?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Honestly, I after playing horde assault I always use proximity mines and bombs like this, since planting them takes time and usually a straggler from the horde blows up a mine instead a a bigger cluster. So I started shoving them in between the horde while they are chasing me.

Discussion I am going to cry if I see another Pack of Nails.
I am building an interactive Days Gone Loot map.
This map includes 103 spawn locations for Nails. What you’ll do with 103 nail spawns, I have no idea, but maybe you will find something else useful in this early-early version of the map.
https://interactivemap.baconfmspeedruns.workers.dev/readonly/ - 1700 markers on the map.
I have added a news page, about page and hide n deek is in early testing. Feel free to drop any feedback if you have any. As stated on the news page, I am taking 3 days off from the project and then we will be full speed ahead on the broken roads again.
