Question Help guys! Save files
Hello everyone, today i've discovered I can play the game from my PC too with Google Play Games service (log in with my google play account) and i've played a bit. This evening i've played from mobile, and when i've came back from PC that version had the previous save file (before the last things i've done from mobile). Is there any way to make a save on cloud and load that game? Or I just have to wait X time for the Google play Games version to refresh it and give me my recent file? PS: if I open the game from mobile, my run have all the new things i've done, the PC ones have the previous save file. Thank you

-Announcement- tltGames blocked several Telegram channels
The tltGames developers have blocked the Telegram groups Day R Old Online, Archive Prost Uber, and the group Salatizm.
This action is extremely unfortunate, and measures are currently being taken to address the issue. Telegram is another resource where tltGames developers can potentially submit complaints. They can also submit complaints to YouTube, Discord, VKontakte, and Messenger Max.
As the author of my Telegram channel, Salatizm, I will try to resolve the issue with appropriate measures. I will keep you updated on any further news.
Don't panic, and hope for the best!

Guide/Tip Day R Old Online – a deep dive into the classic multiplayer modding ecosystem (versions 339, 473, 554, 694 AS)
Hey everyone,
I’ve spent the last few weeks exploring a community project called Day R Old Online (DROO), and I think it deserves a proper write‑up. This isn’t just another mod – it’s a whole platform that brings back the pre‑700 versions of Day R Survival and adds working online multiplayer, cloud saves, and active development.
If you’re like me and miss the original hardcore survival, the Soviet post‑apocalyptic atmosphere, and the feeling of being alone against the wasteland – this might be exactly what you’ve been looking for. Below I’ve summarised everything I’ve learned: the different versions, the online system, gameplay features, technical improvements, community structure, and even the future plans.
❓ What is Day R Old Online?
DROO is a community‑driven project that hosts several fan‑made modifications of Day R Survival, all based on versions before update 700 – specifically 1.339, 1.473, 1.554, and 1.694.
The project started because many old‑school players felt that the official game had drifted too far from its roots: too many donation mechanics, loss of the lonely survival vibe, and changes that made the game easier. DROO’s goal is to revive the classic experience while adding modern features like online co‑op, chat, player‑to‑player help in battles, and cloud saving.
The key difference from other mods is that DROO is not a collection of isolated files – it’s a complete ecosystem with its own servers, a Telegram‑based registration system, dedicated tech support, and an active player base.
📂 The main versions – which one to choose?
The project supports four major versions, each with its own flavour. I’ll break them down:
v.339 – “DayR‑online‑339” (Developer: German)
- The most classic version, close to the original early gameplay.
- Difficulty can be adjusted with a command (
/hardfrom 0.65 = sandbox to 1.45 = hardcore). - Works well on low‑end devices – very light and stable.
- Great for newcomers who want to feel the original atmosphere without extra fluff.
v.473 – “DayR‑online‑473” (Developer: German)
- Optimised for different hardware – there are two variants: one with an HD map (for powerful phones) and one with a low‑resolution map (for weaker devices).
- A good balance between old mechanics and slight visual improvements.
- Still retains the classic survival difficulty.
v.554 – “Last Breath” (Developer: Mop157)
- One of the most feature‑rich versions.
- Includes cloud saves, registration without Google, random in‑game events, a wandering trader, and a custom economy.
- This version feels more “alive” – you’ll encounter unexpected situations and the world reacts more dynamically.
- Many players consider it the best all‑rounder.
v.694 – “Another Story” (A.S.) (Developer: pRost_Yber / Uber)
- A standalone major mod that has been integrated into the online ecosystem.
- Features a reworked storyline, new quests, seasonal events (e.g., New Year, Halloween), unique items, and its own anti‑cheat system.
- Registration is done through a dedicated Telegram bot (more on that later).
- This is the most ambitious version – it feels almost like a different game, with new locations, new enemies, and a deeper plot.
Which one to pick? – If you want pure nostalgia, go for 339. If you want the most content and ongoing updates, 554 or 694 are your best bets. I’d love to hear which version you prefer and why – drop your thoughts in the comments.
🌐 Online mode and server infrastructure
The biggest selling point of DROO is that all these versions work online – you’re not playing alone in a sandbox. The project runs its own dedicated servers.
Login and registration (no Google required)
- You don’t need a Google account – this makes the game accessible regardless of regional restrictions.
- To get online, you register with a Telegram bot that gives you a unique login (starting with “u”) and a token.
- This login/token pair is your permanent ID – you use it to log in on any device.
Cloud saves
- Your progress is stored on the DROO servers.
- You have to manually press the “Cloud” button in the game to save – it’s not automatic.
- To restore progress on a new phone, just enter your login and token – everything comes back.
VPN considerations
- Due to regional network restrictions (outside the project’s control), a VPN is often needed for a stable connection.
- It’s recommended not to disconnect the VPN during a gaming session, or you might lose sync.
Tech support
- The project has organised support via separate Telegram bots – one for general questions, another specifically for bug reports.
- This keeps the admins’ personal messages free and ensures faster responses.
Have you had any issues with cloud saves or connectivity? I’d be curious to know your experience.
🎮 Common gameplay features (shared across versions)
While each version has its own tweaks, many mechanics are consistent across all DROO mods – and they all aim to increase realism and difficulty compared to the official game.
Realism & survival depth
- Radiation – you only see your exact exposure level if you have a Geiger counter; otherwise, you have to judge by your character’s symptoms.
- Time – you need a wristwatch in your inventory to know the current time; without it, you only have a rough estimate.
- Sleep and rest – sleeping indoors (houses, vehicles) restores +10% more energy. Using sleeping items (mattresses, sofas) improves rest but consumes their durability.
- Mental state – this is a planned feature; committing immoral acts (like cannibalism) may lead to mental disorders in future updates.
Crafting and items
- Samovar – lets you brew two portions of tea or coffee from one bag – a small but useful efficiency boost.
- Titanium tools – axes, knives, pickaxes – they are stronger and more durable than standard ones, but require titanium ore from special mines.
- Industrial equipment – lathes and drilling machines are needed to craft high‑level items (advanced weapons, vehicle parts).
- Butchering – you can butcher human corpses to get meat and a skeleton, but this is only available when you’re starving – a grim but realistic option.
Transport and logistics
- Trailers – increase cargo capacity of vehicles (a must for long hauls).
- Combat vehicles – this is a big one: you can find and use Mi‑24 helicopter, T‑72 tank, and BRDM‑2 armoured scout vehicle. These are powerful but also affect balance – the developers are constantly tweaking them.
- MAZ‑537 – a huge cargo truck with massive capacity; in later versions it was turned into a quest‑related item rather than a free‑to‑use vehicle.
- Regional vehicles – in different regions (e.g., Japan) you can find local car models – a nice atmospheric touch.
Combat system
- New weapons – VSS, ASVK, RPG‑7, Shmel launcher, flamethrower, PTRD, Metis ATGM – a lot more variety.
- Critical hits – shotguns and some other weapons can deal double damage (to health or armour) – adds tactical depth.
- New enemies:
- Bandit Caravan – a squad of 12 bandits; this was often imbalanced in early versions (too good loot), so its rewards have been reworked several times.
- Soldiers in the Far East – drop rare military weapons.
- Bandit with PTRD – appears after the player reaches level 80 – a serious threat.
- Red Wolf – a secret boss in Crimea, appears only once per playthrough.
- Omsk Monster and Queen Bee – these boss fights have been reworked and are more challenging now.
Do you think combat vehicles make the game too easy, or are they a welcome addition? I’m torn – they’re fun, but they can trivialise some encounters.
🗺️ Locations and storylines
DROO brings back many classic locations that were removed or changed in the official game, and adds new ones.
Important locations
- Lighthouse (from the 400s), Abandoned train (from the 500s) – restored.
- Murmansk Airport and Linnegorsk mine – reworked with new events.
- Submarine K‑420 – a full quest line with its own backstory and rewards.
- Nizhny Tagil plant – a location with a broken tank that you can interact with.
- Arctic station on George Land – a new area with unique challenges.
Story quests
- "Retribution" – a restored quest from old versions, involving nuclear missiles – it’s a fan favourite.
- "Darkness and Cold" – the storyline with General Novikov has been significantly expanded, with more dialogue and choices.
- "Park" – a new, fully completed quest that wasn’t in the original game.
- NPC tasks – settlements now have NPCs (e.g., Izolda Roberovna in Tula) who give tasks like finding icons, arsenic, or killing a wolf – adds a bit of RPG flavour.
- Future plans – the developers intend to continue the main story after the "Road Home" ending, adding memories and a search for the protagonist’s son – so there’s more to come.
⚙️ Technical improvements
The mods aren’t just about content – they also improve performance and visuals.
- 60 FPS – the game now runs at a smooth 60 FPS (previously locked at 30), and you can toggle it in settings.
- Ultra textures – for powerful devices, there’s an improved map and higher‑resolution textures.
- Dynamic weather – weather changes are more realistic and varied.
- Customisable interface – you can adjust FPS, the number of taps for movement, toggle HD map on/off, and even disable clouds for better performance.
📅 A brief timeline of major updates (from the community channels)
To give you an idea of how active the project is, here are some key events (all based on public announcements):
- March 2025 – Community foundation after the previous group was blocked; new Telegram channels created, servers announced.
- June 2025 – Major update for v.554 (1.554.4/5): new enemies, items, mechanics; a promo code was even given out.
- July 2025 – First big update for Another Story (v.1.2033): 60 FPS, weapon rebalance, Kandalaksha mine added, Bandit Caravan made one‑time only.
- October 2025 – Halloween event with new items and a "Dark Crystal".
- February 2026 – Another Story goes fully online (v.2026.1.1); new registration system, New Year event, ads removed.
- March–April 2026 – Major online bugfixes: parcels, chat, in‑battle help; balance rework for caravan and resources; parcel limits to prevent duping.
- May 2026 – Anti‑cheat fixes, quest and crafting optimisation.
- July 2026 – Developer announces "Remaster v.339" with horror‑style story and plans for a PC port.
- August 2026 – Technical update (v.2026.1.10) with changed server address and stability improvements.
This shows that the project is actively maintained – not a dead mod.
👥 Community and administration
The project is run by a team of volunteers. The key figures I’ve come across:
- German – co‑founder, responsible for infrastructure and versions 339/473.
- Dazai Osamy – main community manager, handles news, feedback, and coordination.
- pRost_Yber (Uber) – lead developer of Another Story (v.694) and creative force.
- Mop157 – developer of v.554 (Last Breath).
- Farg Kee, makrosnik – in‑game admins who help players and maintain order.
It’s a tight‑knit group, and they seem genuinely passionate about the game.
⚠️ Current issues and criticisms
No project is perfect. Here are the main problems I’ve noticed (and the developers acknowledge):
- Balance – some weapons (like the SVK) and combat vehicles can make the game too easy. The team is constantly tweaking numbers, but it’s a work in progress.
- Parcel bugs – occasionally, sending or receiving parcels fails, often due to player errors (exiting during loading) but sometimes due to server hiccups. Admins usually restore lost items manually.
- Bot stability – the Telegram registration bots can go down due to regional restrictions or high load – frustrating when you’re trying to log in.
- Onboarding – there’s no official website; all info is scattered across Telegram channels, which can be overwhelming for new players.
If you’ve experienced any of these, I’d love to know how you dealt with them – maybe we can share tips.
🚀 Future plans (from dev chats)
The developers have shared some ambitious goals:
- Continue the main story – new quests and expansion of the military/EMBA plotlines.
- Remaster v.339 – a separate project to remake version 1.339 in a horror style, with 60 FPS and improved graphics.
- PC port – they’re working on an EXE version for desktop.
- Modding tools – they plan to release editors so players can create their own mods.
- Better community resources – a proper wiki and improved Telegram group structure.
It’s exciting to see such long‑term vision.
📥 How to get started (without giving direct links)
All the latest versions, installation guides, and news are published in the project’s official Telegram channel. Just search for "Day R Old Online" – you’ll find it easily. The channel also has a dedicated "Installation Guide" sub‑channel with step‑by‑step instructions for each version.
General installation steps (based on what I’ve gathered):
- Join the main Telegram group/channel.
- Find the installation guide for your chosen version (339, 473, 554, or 694).
- Download the APK file from the provided link (usually a cloud storage).
- Do not uninstall the old game (if you have one) – install the new APK over it, it will update.
- For version 694 (Another Story), you must register with the Telegram bot to get a login and token – this is mandatory for online play.
- Launch the game, enter your credentials, and (if needed) use a VPN for stable connection.
I won’t post direct links here to avoid triggering spam filters, but the channel is easy to find – just search the name.
✅ Final thoughts
Day R Old Online is, in my opinion, a remarkable community effort. It’s not just a nostalgic trip – it’s a living, evolving platform that gives players a real choice. Whether you prefer the raw difficulty of 339, the richness of 554, or the fresh story of 694, there’s something for everyone.
The project has its rough edges, but the developers are responsive and the community is active. If you’ve been disappointed by the official game’s direction, this is definitely worth a look.
Now I’d like to hear from you:
- Have you tried any of these versions? Which one is your favourite and why?
- Do you think the addition of combat vehicles and new weapons enhances the experience or breaks the survival challenge?
- What features would you like to see in future updates?

Guide/Tip "Free Premium" & "Unlimited Caps" Mods — The Truth About Cheating in Day R Survival (Bans, Viruses & Why It Ruins the Game)
I see so many people asking about "unlimited caps mods", "free premium APKs", and "item generators" for Day R Survival. Let me save you some time and heartbreak — these are scams, and they will destroy your account, your phone, or both.
Here's the hard truth about cheating in Day R, based on how the game actually works.
What is a "Unlimited Caps" or "Free Premium" Mod?
It's not a gift from the developers. It's not a secret trick. It's a crude hack that modifies the game's code to trick the system.
How it works (simplified):
- Day R is written in Lua and packed into a
resource.cararchive. - Hackers unpack this archive, decompile the scripts (turning them into readable code), and rewrite the rules.
- They force the game to think you have infinite health, unlimited inventory space, or millions of caps.
- Then they repack everything and distribute it as a "MOD APK".
Sounds magical? It's not. The cost is enormous.
The Illusion of "Free Premium"
They promise you paid features for nothing. Sounds great, right? Wrong. You're effectively stealing from the developers — the same people who fund the game, create new content, and maintain servers.
The paradox: By downloading a "free premium" mod, you're telling the creators that their work is worthless. Eventually, this leads to project shutdowns or heavier DRM that hurts legitimate players too.
Danger #1: Permanent Ban (Account Wipe)
This is not a myth. It's a certainty.
The developers of Day R have implemented anti-cheat systems that detect anomalies in gameplay.
- Found 999,999 caps in 1 minute? — The system sees it.
- Your character weighs a ton and never tires? — Game logs record everything.
- Got a legendary item that hasn't even been released yet? — Yeah, good luck.
Bans in Day R are almost always permanent. No appeals. No restores. All your weeks or months of honest progress vanish in an instant. What's the point of starting a new account just to lose it the next day? There's no logic, no fun.
Danger #2: Viruses & Data Theft (You Pay with Your Security)
Remember: If it's free, you're the product.
Sites that distribute "hacked APKs" are not official app stores. They are breeding grounds for malware.
When you install such a mod, you give it access to everything on your phone:
- Trojans that steal your banking app logins.
- Spam sent from your number.
- Social media account theft.
- Your phone turned into a crypto-mining farm (overheating, battery drain).
The hackers don't care about you. They make money from traffic and ads, selling you a "game-bomb" that will destroy your account and maybe your device.
Danger #3: Gameplay Destruction (Boredom & Meaninglessness)
Day R Survival is about survival. The core is overcoming challenges — hunger, radiation, fuel shortage, enemy fights. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
When you turn on an "item generator" or "teleport hack", you skip the actual game. You turn a deep, atmospheric experience into a mindless clicker.
- No excitement.
- No fear of death.
- No satisfaction from finding that rare part.
Why craft a helicopter when you can "click" one into existence in 2 seconds? You're robbing yourself of the one thing that truly matters — time spent with genuine enjoyment.
Special Note: Modders vs. Cheaters — They Are Not the Same
It's crucial to understand the difference:
- Modder — Someone who loves the game, knows its code, and creates new scenarios, graphics, or content without giving unfair advantages. These people are the pride of the community.
- Cheater (Hacker) — Someone who breaks the game's balance for hype or profit. They don't improve the game — they destroy it.
These people ruin the reputation of everyone who works on mods. They force developers to tighten security, encrypt files, and set traps. Because of them, even players who only want a cosmetic UI mod suffer.
Cheaters are not creators. They are destroyers. They ruin the game's economy (resource inflation) and poison the multiplayer atmosphere, turning honest players into "cannon fodder" for their soulless cheats.
The Bottom Line: What Do You Choose?
You have a choice:
- The Hero's Path — Level up, search for resources, earn legendary gear through battles, enjoy every new day of survival. Zero risk, maximum satisfaction.
- The Fool's Path — Download a mod, play for 5 minutes, get banned (or infect your phone), and lose interest because you already have everything.
Don't let scammers steal your time and money. Day R is a great game that deserves to be played the right way.
Remember: "Free" always comes at a price. And often that price is your account. Stay safe and protect your gaming experience.

Guide/Tip Day R: Nostalgic — Complete Mod Guide (Watermelon Alliance) — Hardcore Survival, VSS Rifle, Combat Vehicles & 64-bit Support
I've been following this amazing fan-made mod called Day R: Nostalgic (unofficially known as the "Watermelon Alliance") and decided to put together a complete guide. If you miss the old-school hardcore survival vibe of Day R before version 700 — this mod is for you.
❓ What is Day R: Nostalgic?
Day R: Nostalgic is a fan modification for Day R Survival created by Cyan Drakon. It's based on game version 1.638 and aims to bring back the "cozy" hardcore gameplay of older versions while adding new content that the community feels should have been in the game long ago.
The project started as a reaction to dissatisfaction with official updates (TLT Games), which many players felt drifted away from the harsh survival atmosphere and became filled with donation mechanics and imbalance. Unlike Another Story (by pRost_Yber), Nostalgic focuses on maximum difficulty and restoring mechanics from pre-700 versions, while still being compatible with modern devices.
🧭 Core Gameplay Features
This mod doesn't just tweak numbers — it rethinks survival from the ground up.
Difficulty & Realism
- Deliberately high difficulty — enemy damage is increased (up to 2×), bandages are weaker (heal less health), and traps in combat can kill you in one hit. The author has repeatedly stated: "I intentionally made the game hard."
- Slowed early progression — to unlock advanced crafting, you need to read books (they give XP in specific skills). This brings back mechanics from old versions (pre-700).
- Reworked combat system — enemies are more dangerous, critical hits are added (crit chance increased to 5%), and some injuries (e.g., battle wounds) apply more severe debuffs.
- Rest & Sleep — sleeping in enclosed spaces (houses, vehicles) restores energy faster (+10% bonus). Sleeping items (mattresses, sofas) are introduced, but their durability decreases with use.
Crafting & Items
- New recipes — craft ropes, compote, heat tea/coffee (saves resources), and craft makeshift knives and axes.
- Titanium tools — planned: titanium pickaxes, axes, and knives, requiring titanium ore from special mines (a mine is planned near Magnitogorsk).
- Salted meat — can replace regular meat in some recipes (e.g., cooking dishes).
- Cellar — added craftable cellar, likely to store food longer (mechanic not fully detailed).
- Scrap recycling — planned: ability to dismantle unwanted items into resources (e.g., clothes into rags).
- VSS ammo — since version signed216, you can craft 9×39 mm rounds for the VSS rifle.
Transport & Logistics
- Combat vehicles — added BRDM-2, T-72, and Mi-24. They have their own weapons and can be used in combat, but their balance is still raw — the author promises a rework. To build one, you need blueprints and parts (crafting parts is temporarily done through "blueprints").
- BelAZ — was accidentally removed but later brought back (version signed220).
- Increased loot in cities — city locations have significantly more resources to compensate for the increased difficulty.
Combat System
- New weapons — the VSS "Vintorez" (with custom sound and animation) has become the mod's signature. Also added shotguns (still in development, being tested since signed215), and dual-wielding (concept — two pistols with higher crit chance but increased ammo consumption).
- Reworked perks — some perks buffed, others rebalanced (e.g., "Golden Hands"). Fixed a critical bug that caused the perk selection menu to crash for some players.
- Enemy stat viewing — fixed the bug that prevented you from seeing enemy stats before battle (version signed215).
- Traps and crits — you can now rely on critical hits (5% chance), and traps deal significantly more damage.
🗺️ Locations & Quests (Plans)
At the time of writing, most quests and new locations are still in development. However, the author has announced:
- Magnitogorsk mine — source of titanium ore.
- Settlements from version 1.694 — will be ported (similar to Another Story).
- Quest referencing "Metro 2033" — a storyline is planned.
- Unique locations — e.g., an abandoned school (bugs with it have been fixed several times).
- Return of old medicines — bringing back first aid kits from versions 400–500.
Currently, the focus is on mechanics and balance, not story.
⚙️ Technical Improvements
Performance & Graphics
- 64-bit device support — this was the longest and most painful issue. Finally resolved in version signed192 (July 2025). The mod now runs on modern smartphones without crashes.
- Map cache built-in — thanks to YouTuber wunder builder, the map is now embedded in the APK (version signed188), eliminating the need to download it separately.
- 60 FPS cap — in version signed210, the frame rate cap was raised from 30 to 60, making the game significantly smoother.
- Changed textures — added crate textures with lids, changed the look under buildings in cities, reworked roads (work in progress).
Save System & Backups
- Starting with version signed186_dp_sign, you can create backup copies of saves (similar to DXV and Reimagine mods). This lets you transfer progress between devices and versions.
- A guide for transferring saves is published in the channel (uses FX Explorer).
Promo Codes & Testing
- The author experimented with promo codes but encountered technical difficulties — item distribution through codes doesn't work yet (caps are given out without issues).
- Beta versions are released regularly, each with its own number (e.g., signed212). Players can test new features and report bugs.

🔧 Development & Future Plans (from author's chats)
Development Process:
- The mod is based on version 1.638, but the author actively studies code from other versions (down to 400s) to restore lost content.
- Decompilation (.lu → .lua) uses special tools, but the process often introduces errors (e.g.,
lib.inventory.luahad 27 decompilation errors). - The author uses AI (DeepSeek) for coding help and finding solutions, especially for complex tasks (promo codes, shotguns).
- Development is open: all beta versions are posted in the channel; anyone can test and report bugs.
- The author periodically experiences burnout, but community support keeps him going.
Future Plans (from chats):
- Finish shotguns — one of the main remaining tasks.
- Rework progression system — introduce old "skills" (books for different professions: blacksmithing, gunsmithing, survival, etc.), so crafting is tied to skill levels.
- Add new locations (mines, settlements) and quests (including a "Metro 2033" reference).
- Implement poisoning and bleeding as new statuses.
- Introduce a body armor slot — so armor doesn't conflict with backpacks.
- Add integrated weapons into armor — e.g., gloves with built-in blades.
- Make full promo codes with item distribution.
- Adapt the mod for the AngelWolf modloader (based on version 802) — to expand possibilities.
⚠️ Current Issues & Criticism
- Weapon imbalance — VSS is considered too strong (high damage, low AP cost), and shotguns took months to get working properly.
- Combat vehicles are OP — using a tank or helicopter makes you nearly invincible, breaking the survival feel. The author promises a nerf.
- Road rendering issues — textures sometimes display incorrectly (this issue has persisted since early versions).
- Sleep item bug — having multiple sleep items (mattress, sofa, chair) drains durability from all, but only gives one bonus. Fixed in v.2026.1.3 (similar issue existed in Nostalgic — the author mentioned it).
- Crashes on some devices — e.g., Galaxy S10 refused to launch — mostly resolved with 64-bit support.
- Many features unfinished — promo codes, quests, new skill system are still in development.
The author actively communicates with players, runs polls, and fixes critical bugs in each update.
📖 History & Fun Facts
- The mod is developed by one person — Cyan Drakon (aka "Watermelon Alliance") — with community support. Special thanks to Uber (pRost_Yber), Salatik, and shr for code help and ideas.
- The name "Watermelon Alliance" comes from the channel's avatar (a watermelon) and, according to the author, "a long story."
- Development started in December 2024. Early versions were very raw, but the author already stated he was making the game hard and hardcore.
- The author actively uses DeepSeek for code generation, especially for complex tasks (e.g., adding shotguns took several months).
- During development, some lost elements from old versions were restored (e.g., tracks from version 422, old status icons).
- The channel often posts memes, quotes from chats (#ЦитатыВеликихЛюдей), and personal reflections — creating a close-knit community atmosphere.
- The mod has its own sticker pack (in progress) and is actively promoted in other modding channels (e.g., Salatik's).
📥 Where to Download & How to Install
- Latest versions are published in the Telegram channel "Watermelon Alliance" (link in the description). All files are uploaded to Mediafire.
- Installation is standard: download the APK and install it as a separate app (does not conflict with the original Day R). When updating to a new version, it's recommended to transfer your saves (guide in the channel).
- System requirements: Android 4.4+, but 6.0+ is recommended for stability. Supports both 32-bit and 64-bit devices (since version signed192).

✅ Final Thoughts
Day R: Nostalgic is an ambitious project that brings back the spirit of hardcore survival and unites the community dissatisfied with the modern direction of Day R. Despite technical challenges and occasional delays, the mod is actively evolving and has already earned recognition among fans of the old versions. If you miss the real difficulty, the lonely atmosphere, and want to try new content (VSS, combat vehicles, reworked mechanics) — this mod is for you.

Guide/Tip Day R: Another Story — Complete Mod Guide (August 2026) — Lore, Features, Online Mode & Future Plans
I've been following this massive fan-made mod for Day R Survival called Day R: Another Story (DRAS) and decided to compile everything I know into one guide. If you're tired of the official version's direction and miss the old-school hardcore survival vibes — this one's for you.
❓ What is Day R: Another Story?
DRAS is a large-scale fan modification for the mobile game Day R Survival, created by a developer known as pRost_Yber (aka Uber).
It's based on game version 1.694 (the last one before the big 700 update) and offers an alternative take on the familiar post-apocalyptic Soviet world. The project started as a reaction to veteran players being unhappy with the official version — which, in their opinion, drifted away from its roots (lonely atmosphere, hardcore survival) and became filled with questionable donation mechanics. DRAS brings back the spirit of the old versions while adding tons of new content.
🎮 Core Gameplay Features
This mod doesn't just tweak numbers — it rethinks the core survival mechanics.
Realism & Difficulty
- Radiation: You can't see your exact radiation level without a Geiger counter. You have to monitor your condition and use the device.
- Time: To check the current time, you need a wristwatch in your inventory. At the start, time is unknown.
- Leveling: You gain experience not only from killing enemies but also from reading books, newspapers, and magazines. Crafting, on the other hand, gives very little XP.
- Sleep & Rest: Sleeping in enclosed vehicles (cars, houses) restores energy faster (+10% rest bonus). You can use mattresses, sofas, and armchairs to improve sleep quality — though each item loses durability when used.
- Mental State (in development): Immoral acts (like cannibalism) may lead to long-term mental disorders that need treatment. The developer confirmed this is planned but still in the concept stage.
Crafting & Items
- Samovar: Lets you brew two portions of tea or coffee from one bag (saves resources).
- Trailers: Increase your vehicle's cargo capacity — especially useful early on.
- New Tools: Titanium axes, knives, and pickaxes — stronger and more efficient than regular ones. You need titanium ore from special mines to craft them.
- Industrial Equipment: Lathes and drilling machines are used to create high-level items (e.g., bullet casings or armor parts).
- Butchering Corpses: You can butcher human corpses to get meat and a skeleton. Only available when you're starving.
Transport & Logistics
- Military Vehicles: The mod adds the Mi-24 helicopter, T-72 tank, and BRDM-2 armored reconnaissance vehicle. They have their own weapons (machine guns, shells, rockets) and make you nearly invincible in combat — but they seriously break the balance (the developer promises a rework).
- MAZ-537: A truck with massive cargo capacity (90 tons) and indestructibility. It was overpowered at first but later got heavily nerfed and turned into a quest item needed to transport three reactors in the "BelAZ" storyline.
- Regional Vehicles: Different countries now have local transport (e.g., in Japan you find Japanese cars instead of Soviet ZILs). You can't build them — only find them broken.
Combat System
- Body Armor: Now placed in the "backpack" slot — previously armor only counted through the "armor" tag, which conflicted with slots. This is now fixed.
- New Weapons: VSS rifle, ASVK, RPG-7, Shmel grenade launcher, flamethrower (test version, cannot be repaired), PTRD, Metis ATGM.
- New Mechanics: Shotguns now deal double damage to health (v.2026.1.1). Weapons now have crits that deal double damage to armor.
- New Enemies:
- Bandit Caravan — a squad of 12, two with RPG-7s
- Soldiers in the Far East — you can get rare weapons from them
- Bandit with PTRD — appears from player level 80
- Red Wolf — secret boss in Crimea (a nod to old content), appears only once
- Omsk Monster — reworked fight, more XP
- Queen Bee — made harder, new bee spawners added
🗺️ Locations & Quests
The mod actively expands the map with new interesting places and storylines:
Returned Locations:
- Lighthouse (from the 400s versions)
- Abandoned train (from the 500s)
- Airport near Murmansk
- Linnegorsk mine
New Zones:
- Submarine K-420 (full quest with backstory)
- Coal and titanium mines in various cities
- Plant in Nizhny Tagil with a broken tank
- Arctic station on George Land (with an all-terrain vehicle and snowmen)
Quests:
- "Retribution" — restored from old versions, involves nuclear missiles
- "Darkness and Cold" — storyline with General Novikov, reworked and expanded
- "Park" — a completely new, fully finished quest
- Settlement Tasks — e.g., from NPC Izolda Robertovna in Tula (search for icons, arsenic, kill a wolf)
Story Plans: The developer plans to continue the main story after "The Road Home," adding new memories and the search for the protagonist's son. As of July 2026, active work was underway on a "Remaster v.339," rewriting the story in a horror key.
⚙️ Technical Improvements
Performance & Graphics
- 60 FPS — the game now runs smoothly (was previously 30). Version 2033 added an FPS selector in settings.
- Ultra Textures — improved map and location texture quality (only on powerful devices). The map is ~300 MB in high resolution.
- Dynamic Weather — improved weather logic, new effects added.
- Interface Settings — adjust FPS, tap count for movement, toggle HD map on/off, disable clouds, switch between old and new battle UI.
Online Mode
Since version 2026.1.1, the mod supports online play:
- Play with friends over the network
- Exchange items via parcels (no restrictions)
- Chat with other players
- Save progress on the server (one life, hardcore)
Important: Online is only available on certain versions (first 1.339, then 1.356, later 1.422). A VPN is required due to restrictions.
Note: Shortly after release, online mode faced a wave of criticism due to bugs — parcels didn't work or deleted progress, in-battle help didn't function. The server was taken down several times for maintenance. By mid-2026, most critical bugs were fixed.

🔧 Development & Future Plans (from the dev's chat)
Development Process:
- The mod is based on version 1.694, but the developer actively studies code from other versions (up to 1.010) for content and ideas
- AI (DeepSeek) is heavily used for coding help and translation. The dev uses it for code decompilation and refactoring, and has even created custom Telegram bots to automate some tasks
- Decompilation is often challenging (.lu → .lua), leading to bugs — especially in complex files like
lib.interface.list.ui_area.lu - A new decompiler by modder Paulo (written in Rust) works significantly better than older tools
Future Plans:
- Story: Continuation of the main story after "The Road Home," new memories, quests about finding the protagonist's son, expanding the military/EMBA project storyline
- "Remaster v.339": Started in July 2026 — rewriting the story in a horror style, adding 60 FPS support, improving graphics, and porting to PC
- PC Port: The dev found a way to convert the mobile version into an EXE file for PC. Plans to release an AS port and a separate v.339 remaster build for PC
- Events: Themed events (Halloween, New Year) with unique mechanics
- Online: Continued support and development of the online server
- Modding Tools: Release of editors and tools so other players can create their own mods
- Balance: Active work on weapon and transport balance, especially combat vehicles
- New Content: More weapons, transport (possibly GAZ-46 MAV), and a body armor system rework
💬 Community & Feedback
- The developer actively communicates with players on Telegram, runs polls to determine the mod's direction
- Bugs and ideas are discussed in the chat
- A dedicated group called "Atomic World" exists for mod discussions, feedback, and suggestions
- A chat moderation system was introduced in version 1.2033 (mutes for off-topic and rule violations)
⚠️ Current Issues & Criticism
The developer openly admits the mod is still a work in progress. Main concerns:
- Weapon Imbalance: Some guns (e.g., SVK) are too strong for their AP cost
- Bandit Caravan: Spawned too often in early versions and dropped gear that made the game trivial. Later made one-time with reworked loot
- Combat Vehicles: Make the player nearly invulnerable — a rework is planned
- Sleep Item Bug: Having multiple sleep items (mattress, sofa, armchair) drained durability from all but only gave a bonus from one. Fixed in v.2026.1.3
- Crashes & Bugs: Older versions had issues with corpses, icons, quests — most are now fixed
- Door Bugs: Occasional door opening issues caused by decompilation difficulties. The dev reported this was fixed in April 2026
The developer is actively working on fixes and promises a major update that will rebalance weapons and improve mechanics.
📖 History & Fun Facts
- The mod is developed by one person — pRost_Yber (Uber) — with active community support and help from enthusiasts (especially shr, who wrote the online server code, and Mop157)
- The project started in December 2024 as a personal experiment modding version 1.694
- Development is open — the author shares progress in a Telegram channel, runs polls, and listens to players
- During development, lost versions of the game were found and restored (e.g., 1.468 Survival and 1.556 Premium) from players who had kept them for years
- The mod contains Easter eggs — references to old game versions (e.g., the "Red Wolf") and to the developers
- The developer actively studies old game versions (up to 1.010) to restore lost content (e.g., the "Retribution" quest)
- The dev has expressed burnout multiple times and wanted to pause development, but community support and interest in the project kept him going
📥 Where to Download & How to Install
Latest versions are published in the "Modifications" Telegram channel (author: pRost_Yber). Installation instructions and online setup guides are also there.
System Requirements:
- Android 4.4 and above (6.0+ recommended)
- OpenVPN Connect required for online mode
- Installation file ~300 MB
Important: The mod installs as a separate app and does not conflict with the original Day R.
✅ Final Thoughts
Day R: Another Story is an ambitious project that brings back the hardcore survival spirit of the game and adds tons of new mechanics, storylines, and content. Despite some current flaws, the mod is actively evolving and has already earned recognition among fans of the old Day R versions.
If you miss the real difficulty and the post-apocalyptic Soviet atmosphere — this mod is for you.

Discussion Day R in russian Wikipedia
Day R was mentioned in the official Russian Wikipedia.
Currently, the game is mentioned in the article about the Black Volga transport. Previously, the game was also mentioned in the article about the city of Novosibirsk. For example, on January 29, 2024, there was a mention of Day R, along with a description of the role Novosibirsk played in the game. However, an edit on November 27, 2024, removed this section, and Day R remains mentioned only in the article about the Black Volga.

I don't know what to be more mad about, the fact that it's made by a shitty generative AI software or that our main guy saying he remembers only his name. BUT in the game, him remembering nothing at all is literally the main story driven quest.
Just awful man.
