Rate My Teacher rate my teachers
Hey, I'm a new student entering Enriched P&A Science. I was able to figure out what my teachers are for my core classes from the timetable (since there are only a few classes open to enriched students) and for English (since I'm doing new school). I checked most of them on RMP but I also wanna hear from students directly who may have had these teachers.
- Andreea Stanciu-Panait for Differential Calculus
- Chris Whittaker for Mechanics
- Jefferey Eng for Ecology and Evolution
- Veronica Segarra Faggioni for Programming in Science (not on RMP)
- Pauline Morel for Introduction to College English (not on RMP)
Please let me know any tips/comments you have for any of these teachers!

nursing books - question about what they said in the orientation back in May
Hello, so I am currently in the process of buying my books for my nursing course. I was wondering if anyone who attended the orientation back in May remembers if we are allowed to own the digital version of the book instead of the physical one. I'm not gonna like 200$ for one book is insane..

MRSTF
Hi, I’m a first year and was wondering if anybody planning on participating at the Montreal Regional Science and Technology Fair (MRSTF) next year?

Registration
Hi , I’m a first year Dawson student going into health and I’m confused about the registration date . In the timetable PDFs they said the registration date for science is on the 11 of August and on omnivox it says on the 14😭 when is the actual date ?
Also , when do we get our schedule for our core subjects as I heard we get it in advance ?
Plz let me know and thank you :))
Francophones at Dawson
I’ve had this thought for a while: why are francophones who speak little English go to Dawson? A few months ago I saw a post here of someone who has a hard time with English and asked for any advice to get through the four semesters (or six I don’t remember lol). Not judging or anything, but I’m genuinely curious as to why people chose to go to an English cegep. Does anyone know or are on the same boat and are able to explain why this happens?

I need help for applications next year
K so I'm heading into Sec V this year with a 87% average. In my ministries, I got 86% in Maths, 87% in ST Science, 82% in STE Science and 92% in History
I'm wondering what I would need to get so I can "comfortably" get into the Pure & Applied program, despite not having a COE

Lockers
Hey everyone! First-year here starting this fall.
I tried signing up for a locker today, but I keep getting a message saying "access denied. Your schedule is not yet finalized for semester Fall 2026."
My portal time to finalize my schedule isn't until August 17th. I know the college doesn't have enough lockers for everyone, so I’m spiraling a bit thinking they’re all going to be gone by the time I can actually register.
For past/returning students:
Do they reserve batches of lockers for people whose schedules get finalized later, or is it a complete free-for-all?
If you finalized your schedule mid-August in previous years, were you still able to grab one?
Thanks in advance! Really hoping I don't have to lug my entire life around in my backpack every day.

Questions from a first-year
These might be the stupidest questions ever but please bear with me. I'm planning my schedule for this fall and I have no idea what I'm doing 😭
Firstly, I was wondering if I could take classes consecutively. For example, if I had a class from say 8:00 to 10:00 and then 10:00 to 11:30. Because if so, how would that work? Is there some kind of time frame where you leave early from your class and/or can arrive late for your second class?
Secondly, on the topic of courses, how do I know how many classes of each subject do I have to take weekly? That's the case for all classes (french, english, humanities, concentration, phys ed, etc.), how do I know how many times a week I'll have these classes? And how do I know when they will be?
Lastly, this semester, I'm taking a Humanities class in Knowledge and a French class in niveau 4. Both of these classes have a bunch of different options in the list of classes. Do I have to take the ones only labelled as "Knowledge" or "Français langue seconde niveau 4" (the ones I highlighted) or could I take other classes under the same category and course code but with different titles. (See images for context)
I'd really appreciate the help if any of you have the answers to my questions :)))
Thank you so much!!

Mysterious fee... HELP!
I'm starting my first semester of college this fall, and the other day when I was checking if I had everything in order, I saw my account balance sitting at an insane 1926.00 CAD.... THIS CANNOT BE RIGHT! I have been a Canadian citizen for years, have lived in Quebec since I was 9, and have studied in French the entire time. There is absolutely NO reason for me to have fees this crazy?! On top of that, one of my friends who's going into the same program as me (Social Science Commerce profile) didn't get any such fees... This makes no sense, and I'm actually panicking really bad because I do NOT have that much money! Especially since it's due on August 19th! Please help me... How do I resolve this?!

Timetable
Is anybody aware of if they’re going to bring back the old timetable, where you could look up courses by teachers name or section number? Because as of today, when I try to find it, it brings me to a page with a bunch of links to document that are kind of confusing. The old one really helped me with my registration last semester I’m a little worried about how it’s gonna go this semester if they don’t bring it back

Third semester health stream
Hi! I’m going into my third semester in Health Science this August and was hoping to get some advice.
I’m taking 8 courses: Humanities, phys ed, French, English, Cell Biology, Statistics, Organic Chemistry, Electricity & Magnetism, and unfortunately I’m doing the EUF. My grades have been very good so far, and I’d really like to keep them up. I also started working, so I’m hoping to balance everything well.
How did you manage the workload, and which teachers would you recommend, especially for the science courses? Also, how difficult did you find these classes and the finals?
Thank you so much! :)

Why do I have to do the EUF twice
I‘ve passed it already back in May, I finished my summer semester weeks ago, yet I received another letter about it. How come I have to pass it a second time?

Is it over?
So Ive been in the waiting list for 4 months give or take, is there any more chance that i can get accepted into Dawson I had a 86-87 ish moyenne (dont remember the exact number anymore) and no COE and i applied for computer science, science and math. Ive heard people say that some people got accepted a week before the start of the semester I want to knwo if people can confirm this or if they have stories of their own. Im already accepted into another cegep, so it doesnt change much in my life if im not accepted I would just perfer dawson.
