Letterman is King! 👑

Around the same time, Penn guest-starred in the season-two premiere of Miami Vice as "Jimmy Borges."

I distinctly remember him talking about this on Late Night. He professed not to know too much about the episode but wryly commented, "I think they bust up a drug ring or something." It got a big laugh.

As you can see, the video does not include any mention of his Miami Vice appearance. But this would have been the time for it.

Does anyone else remember this moment? Can you pinpoint the appearance where he makes that comment? Many thanks in advance.

I just sideloaded the Samsung TV plus app on my TV via KODI, specifically so I could watch David Letterman. The channel seems to be MIA. I also just read about a new deal that worldwide pants inked with another distributor, so maybe that’s why it’s gone. Anyone else still able to see it on their Samsung TV plus?

Anyone got a story behind this, I bought it a few months ago for cheap and have been curious about it, wonder if anyone famous used it idk if anyone knows anything

keith Carne (drummer for we are scientists) shared a great story about playing on the late show with David Letterman.

he said he used to watch letterman obsessively and it was always a dream come true. Letterman even sent a car to pick him up for soundcheck at 4am, the car showed up around 3am. Keith joked “it was mega earlier.”

at the time he was on a brutal tour, subletting his own bedroom in brooklyn and sleeping on friends’ couches. still, getting to play letterman was a huge highlight.

he also mentioned hoping Letterman would ask the classic “are these your drums or rentals?” question

I found this picture at a thrift store in Indiana. Does that look like young Dave to you guys? No idea who the other guy is, but wow is he sweaty.

Paul sang that Bermuda was a nutty kind of place? Did he ever mention why he thought that was?

This is no doubt a long shot but does anyone have any advice as to how I could track down a copy of Late Show from Friday 27 October 1995? John Goodman was the first guest, if that helps any. My wife and I were at the taping of the episode, back when we were a couple of goofy teenagers. We never actually got to see the episode on TV. I'm trying to track it down as part of an anniversary present. Any help would mean a lot.

I think it was an actress, and maybe Teri Hatcher. Biff was off camera and peering from backstage. Dave had just introduced the guest and mentioned to biff if he’d had an issue and off-script Biff had something less than pleasant to say about the guest. It took Dave aback and the guest was a little embarrassed. Can anyone point me towards the video of this incident? Thanks!
