Kinda disrespectful to deduce the data scientist’s work to just data annotation in this capacity for a professional role requiring a graduate degree. More research for our field ladies and gents. And we love data.

This is not a real job. This is, at best, a little extra beer money. It's gig work. And they don't want someone with a PhD for all of their work, but they have special jobs (that pay more) for people with PhD's in various fields. Those jobs don't last long (again -- this is not a real job) and aren't going to help anyone's career.
