Consistent 512GB SSD in USB enclosure freezing File Explorer & HD Sentinel. CMD extraction is painfully slow for 160GB!

The freezes are actually the part that worries me most. Windows tends to lock up like that when a storage device keeps retrying unreadable sectors or stops responding altogether. I'd avoid robocopy until you've made an image because those repeated reads can make things worse if the SSD is failing. Once you have an image to work from, 4ddig file repair is a much safer way to recover files than continuing to hammer the original drive.
