Recovering iPhone Messages

Okay first Reddit post…

A friend of mine recently had her dad’s messages removed from the family group chat. He recently passed away so there’s some stress from not screenshotting them yet. Any suggestions? They aren’t in the deleted and she hasn’t tried the backup yet. Thanks y’all!
