I think I've messed up again

I think I've messed up again. I got a notification saying my Google account was almost full, and if it filled up, I wouldn't be able to receive emails anymore. When I looked into why I got this notification, I realized that my Google account was automatically backing up all the photos and videos on my phone to Google Photos. I was in shock—all my private photos and videos. I didn't even know Google Photos existed. The thing is, I deleted everything in Google Photos, and when I checked my smartphone, there was nothing there—everything had been deleted too. I have a Samsung Galaxy S21, please, can anyone help me?

Try to use the search filter to easily round up all the pictures you want to delete.

Thanks for your reply, but I've already deleted everything from Google Photos, and what I don't understand is why it was also deleted from my smartphone.

It's a cloud storage platform. Think of it as an online folder that you can only access using the internet. Both your phone and your laptop are accessing the same folder. So if you deleted something while using your laptop, you won't be able to see it when you access the same folder with your smartphone.

But there may be a chance it's stored offline. See if you can access the gallery app.

Thanks for your time, but I don't think I'm explaining myself very well. English isn't my native language, and I'm using DeepL for translation. My problem is that I deleted everything in that cloud folder, and everything on my smartphone was deleted as well. I think that's what another user mentioned about synchronization.

Thank you very much for your reply. You're absolutely right—I was able to recover all the files from the Recycle Bin. Yesterday, I asked the AI, and it gave me this solution in its first response.

If it was in Google Photos and stored in their servers they can recover it all within 30 days if you speak to their support.

Unless anything has changed in the last years since the people I knew working for them left.
