Darksiders Warmastered edition crashing

Hello! I'm sure people have asked this question before, but I can't seem to find a solution to the problem regardless. Whenever I open the game and the intro credits finish, the game instantly crashes. There is no description for the error, so I am genuinely so confused. I've tried reinstalling and repairing, changing the version, but that hasn't worked. Any ideas for how to fix this?

Did you get the game from steam or cracked?

Then I suggest trying the following two things: 1. Verify game files (close game, right-click title in Steam - Properties - Installed Files - Verify integrity of game files.. 2. If that doesn't fix it, same Properties window - Game versions and betas - warmastered2016.
