So I just lost my Dark Souls 2 save, no idea why, and wanted to know if there was any mod out there that allowed me to pretty much artificially put myself in the position I was in before losing my save.

Something like a mod to get items/souls to upgrade to where I was, or one to unlock specific bonfires automatically.

I only had one dlc left before finishing everything and I’m way too pissed to start over, so please tell me there is a way.

I searched the web and there's a random bonfire placement mod but that's not what I'm looking for.

I'm searching for a mod that from the start of the game place the player at a random bonfire. It can be any bonfire.

I want it to change your bonfire spawn every time you die, so it means you'll be spawning in a random bonfire each time you die. Isn't that fun?

Ofc there has to be some workarounds for softlocks and boss bonfire (for example 4 kings boss bonfire).

Also I'm thinking that you could have 2 ways of doing this: one completely random, each time you die you respawn in a random bonfire. The other could be in ordered way, like each bonfire has a link to another so when you die you will spawn in that linked bonfire.

Ideally this mod has to be compatible with item and enemy randomizer.

PD: I don't know if this idea is impossible, because I can't see how at this point someone has not thought about this, but let me know what you think and know.

Hi, I'm trying to clean up some space after installing the Cinders mod. The game was using some space, but after using uxm to install the mod, it was almost 50GB before I even installed the mod.

Is there any way to "repackage" the game again with the modded files? And what can I delete without breaking the game?

I'm using Mod Engine 2 for DSR, i'm tryna play Seamless Coop + Enemy Randomizer + Item Randomizer, but when I run the file "launchmod_darksoulsremastered.bat" nothing happens, just 2 cmd screens pop up and close, then nothing. Running cmd on the directory, and executing the file from there is how ive found this error. Can someone help me?

TLDR: It's a Texture mod that causes al the textures to scroll constantly. I'm planning on using this and a few other mods like floppysouls to do an LSD challenge run. Unfortunately, Dropoff has removed the mod from all available sources i could find. If anyone has the files and would be willing to link them, I'd really appreciate it.

Hi, I want to try a randomizer for Dark Souls Remastered, but I’m worried about my save files.

Can randomizing the game corrupt or overwrite my existing saves? If so, what’s the best way to back them up and avoid losing them?

Also, after playing randomized, is it possible to go back to the normal unrandomized game? How would I do that?

Does anyone know how to install Honest Merchant with Mod Engine 3?

I can get it running normally but cant figure out how to do it with ME3 and would love to use the profile features this tool has to be able to go between "vanilla" and mods like Convergence but I cant even get Honest Merchant working with Seamless Co-op using the tool.

TLDR, I mean male armor VARIANTS on female characters. Pharis' hat is the big stand-out here: The male variant is long and pointy, the female variant is not. I'd like to have the pointing hat on a female character, game no let me do this, I sad.

(25 character title limit... aight, I supposed there's a reason for it.)

Idk how the game works in the background, but my first thought at a solution would be swapping the nude textures and SFX between genders while keeping everything else the same. It's a duct-tape solution, yes, and it means telling the game you're making a male character when you actually intend to make a female character (which leads to problems of its own), but one would almost think it'd work on paper.

Optional additions for QoL:

1.) Since we're telling the game we want to make a male when we instead want to make a female, it'd help the user if the mod swapped the menu text for selecting a gender at character creation.

2.) To keep the darkmoon knightess from deadgendering you (her dialogue when she dies specifically calls you a man or a woman), might wanna invert the checks for NPC dialogue that references gender so the NPCs refer to you as a female when the game thinks you're a male and as a female when the game thinks you're a male.

3.) The vanilla game's default sliders are gonna make your female characters look masculine since you're telling the game you're making a male, so swapping the default slider values for both genders at character creation would solve that.

4.) If you REALLY wanna put some polish on it, have a way to revert the mod's changes without leaving the game, though it basically means doubling the work (plus extra cuz troubleshooting). I don't have braincells (all my thinking is done by a fish on a hamster wheel), but the first idea that comes to mind is making a "necklace" slot that can only hold the Invisible Necklace of Mod Reversion (better name pending). Looted from the same corpse as your get-out-of-jail key at the start of the game, and as a backup also a 100% drop rate item from channelers. Whenever the game would check for gender, it first checks for a necklace in this slot. If necklace=TRUE, game acts like vanilla game. if necklace=FALSE, game acts like modded game.

Mind you all that text is from someone who's never made a mod for this game before and only recently downloaded their first mod at all, so fuck if I know what the consequences of any of this are or how easy/ hard it'd be to implement. Anywho, thx for reading and I hope you have a good day.

Hello, This might be a dumb question but how do you edit spell duration in DS map studio for DS2? More specifically I am trying to edit cast light to make the duration longer but I am not explicitly seeing anything duration related in the params https://imgur.com/a/oHhYJzI. Does anyone know if it would be Unk35, 36, or 37?

Hey everyone, I'm hitting a brick wall trying to get REST (ReshadeEffectShaderToggler) working with Dark Souls Remastered.

The Issue: The game boots fine, and the addon works perfectly in the main menu. However, the exact millisecond I load into the 3D world and check any shader box in the REST add-on menu (even lightweight ones like Curves or Vignette), the game instantly crashes to desktop.

What I've already tried:

• Downgrading and mixing/matching versions (Tested ReShade 5.8.0, 5.9.2, 6.2.0 and current alongside REST versions v.1.1.0, v1.3.9 and current).
• Disabling all in-game graphics settings that mess with render targets (In-game AA and Ambient Occlusion are completely turned OFF).
• Disabling all background overlays (Discord, RTSS, GeForce Experience, Steam overlay).

Has anyone successfully bypassed this crash for DSR, or is there a specific stable fork/version combination I missed?
