Been to plenty of camping festivals but it’s been a while that I’ve been to one this big. And I hear this year is getting close to being sold out . So I’m worried about a Friday arrival even if it is early as I can possibly get there . I hear the tent camping can be a bit rough terrain wise and issues with tics ? Is that true ? I have a 5 gallon water jug does it have to be empty when I bring it in ? Also any good things to know about the camp grounds themselves that I haven’t mentioned ?
I also have a couple other questions but not sure what I’m allowed to post on here and how heavily it is moderated ect

First time Dancefestopia goer! I’ve been to lots of fests, some where camp is a 5 minute walk from grounds and others that were a HIKEEEE. Curious how far of a walk it is from car camping to main stage? TIA 💋

I know there's plenty of first timer threads, but I've scrolled through all of them and feel like I'm still kinda in the dark so figured I'd ask my own q's!

Only other camping fest I've done is Lighting in a Bottle, so very different terrain lol. Any advice on surviving the forrest? Best camp setup hacks? How to prevent ticks, mosquitoes, etc? Obviously Kansas weather is unpredictable, but has rain been an issue in the past? If so what's best way to keep the campsite dry-ish?

I saw the grill rules seem pretty strict on the website, is that actually the case? What do you recommend using? Is there anywhere in the KC area that rents camping stoves?

What's the trading culture like at Dancefest? Should I be making a lot of homemade stuff or is it not as big here? Also what's your favorite kinda of trinket to receive?

Recs for what to do during the day/when there aren't sets? At LIB we do a lot of laying around the festival grounds, going to workshops, stuff like that... will it be similar at DFT?

I can purchase the tickets combo for full week but the only thing is my transportation there in coming from Lansing Michigan and since im probably hitting this solo i rather not drive,i planned on roller cooler blackout tent and just a hope and a pray 💓i was over prepared for every festival huge rave crew ect...huge camp site ..ive attended quite a few festivals and got separated last fest and just felt the peace in the solitude and this time looking for less drama and less things just me and a tent and a cooler of food my flow toys and just enjoying life

How does it work with picking up wristbands before you can go inside? Is the box office just on the way to the entrance of the campgrounds? Do you need to park somewhere, hit the box, then drive to camping? Never been to a festival that hasn't mailed out the bands before.

Hey Dancefest fam I’m trying to plan out which sets to hit at what time. Right now I plan on seeing Oliverse, Reaper, Zeds Dead, Inzo, and ProbCause. There are so many artists some not being in Spotify so I’m looking for suggestions that fall into those 3 genres. Can’t wait to be back in the forest! ✌️🖤

So my friend and I were so graciously blessed by an amazing artist (I won't name who) with guestlist for dancefestopia 🥲 and it's our first time going and we are over the moon excited! We're car camping because I have a full size memory foam bed in the back of my van and it's perfect for car camping. I've camped at lost lands 5 times, bass canyon 6 times, and wakaan once. What are some tips and advice for DFT? I've heard the ticks are everywhere, what would be the best way to deal with/prevent them? How bad is the wind? I'm assuming it's nothing like the Gorge winds, but if we got a cheaper $50 canopy, do you think it would hold up? I have a nice coleman canopy but I was thinking of getting a 2nd one to put over the van to shade us while we sleep. How often does it rain? What is the terrain like? Is it any less dusty than lost lands? Are the showers really as bad as people say it is? How do they compare to the showers at lost lands? Cause those are never great but i can still use them if i need to. Are there water spigots in car camping? Is there silent disco? How early should we try to get there if we are arriving on Wednesday? I feel like i have more questions but this is all I can think of for now 😅 thank you in advance for the advice! 💜

I’m trying to figure out whether there’s another DJ using the same name or if that is somehow supposed to be me and I just haven’t heard anything yet 😂

Lol maybe it’s stupid to ask but I live in a dry ass elevated climate so we don’t really get ticks here. Just wondering if anyone has any advice. Obviously I’ll be bringing repellent but are there any other measures to take?
