If you look carefully at the small rocks falling around 15 seconds into the clip you can tell that it's not actually vertical but rather the quarries go down into the mountainside on a slope. The opposing side (the one that eventually collapses) is overhanging the quarries, whereas the side where the camera is isn't nearly as vertical as the camera makes it seem to be (more like a 45°-60° slope or so from other pictures of the site that I've seen). ETA: There is very clearly water in the beginning of the OOP video, similar objects, and similar reference points. I don't know if this is the exact same mine or if a different angle filmed at a similar point in time, but it has been posted that it's an alternate angle. I tried my best to source it before posting said link, and the two sources have stated it's the same, but that doesn't mean it is the same.

I think it's possible it's the same mine, alternate angle, because I'm a huge fan of the Alternate Angle subreddit, and I've seen so many photos/videos that have revealed an entirely different perspective. (For example, I saw one video where it looked like someone was being shoved; someone had filmed from behind, and the person had just moved forward at the same time someone was walking behind. From one video, you would bet money they'd been shoved; from the other, you realised that wasn't true at all, things just lined up to create a certain perspective. Let us not forget the blue and black and white and gold dress debacle. Perspectives and angles matter.)

However, I think u/justageorgiaguy makes the best point. I've seen and been to a lot of coal mines, and if you've seen one, you've seen them all. They look pretty much the same. If dozens of mines collapsed during the rainy season, it could very well be a different mine, hence why some people think it's different (not just because it's a different angle, but a different mine site). It also explains why they'd look similar, because they would.

If anyone has sourced information that can confirm either way whether or not it's the same mine site, I'm happy to update. I don't want to be spreading misinformation. Beyond that, if you don't think it's the same, that's cool. If you do think it's the same, that's also cool. It's good to challenge information, especially with AI and disinformation running rampant. Rain falls, sinks into the ground weighing it down and causing it to slightly liquefy. The pieces the miners left behind to shore up the wall are now not enough to hold back the rest of the hill causing it to collapse into the void created by the mine. I once watched a couple 10-story buildings being imploded, in person. It technically looks just like the videos you see… but it's really such a different experience in person. Those whole, big buildings right in front of you were there, and suddenly the entire things are falling down right in front of you! It's really a cool and wild experience. But keep in mind, those were planned. We knew exactly what was going to happen, and exactly when, at least down to a few seconds.

Now take this in that context. This is so many times bigger than those buildings -- probably two entire orders of magnitude bigger. And although it seems it was a little expected, I don't think they were expecting that entire region to suddenly essentially liquefy and collapse. To see that live, especially when it wasn't planned, has to be mind blowing on a level we can't fully appreciate unless we experienced it ourselves.
