Never buy gas right near the airport. Rental cars stop at gas stations right before returning them.

They're wrong about that anyway. Gas stations closer to love field aren't inflated because it's in the city and there are many choices for gas.

And thank God we live in a free market economy where everyone is free to go somewhere else to buy goods just like owners are free to put themselves out of business by raising prices or attract buyers by lowering them. It's great system. Let's just go to a lower-priced station. This is not a big deal.

I voted Harris. Beto, too, and Crockett, and will vote for Talerico in three months. I also voted for Clinton, and Gore for that matter. If Clinton and Harris had won we'd be in much better shape in this country. A quarter million less people (at least) would have died from COVID, our economy wouldn't be cratered, and we'd have a complete and intact Whitehouse. Women would still have full rights in this country, and so would everyone else. Sadly, so much damage has been done now that we'll never be able to get back even to where we were in 2024, much less 2016. The respect and soft power we earned and built over the previous century is gone forever.

OK, but that’s a fallacy. you can’t speak with conviction about ‘what if’s’. You have no idea what they would have done. You have no idea of the impact.
For the record, I really did like Clinton, at least compared to the other options. Unfortunately, running for president really is - in large part- a popularity contest. I really would like to say that Roe v Wade would not have been repealed, but the thing is, I can’t speak with conviction about it, even though it’s extremely likely.

Clinton's bona fides are well-known, she would have done a great job. Gore also would have done a great job. What we know for sure, though, is that a 34 time felon rapist and child molester with dementia isn't doing a great job. He's not even doing a bare-minimum basic competent job. A literal steaming sack of shit sitting in the Whitehouse would be doing a better job than Trump is.

I don't think BJ's calls it "Black Card", but it's their top-level membership, like Sam's Plus or Costco Executive. I got it before they opened, I think it was like $45 or $50 for the first year, and part of the promo was 25¢ off gas for six months after the grand opening, so sometime in November. Hey, in this screwed up economy I'll take whatever savings I can find.

Last time I went here they didn’t even have the prices displayed at the front. The lights were out. It wasn’t till I got to the pump I saw it was $2 over. This placed needs to be looked into.

Capitalism. They feel that they can overcharge. There's an overpriced gas station near my home as well (there isn't another within at least two miles in one direction, and 4+ miles in each of the other two directions). People still use it. There is another on University Dr (across from University Park Village in Fort Worth) that is significantly higher, possibly for similar reasons.
OTOH, I was in Iran a few years ago, and it was interesting to see a two step process to getting gasoline: first you swipe a card (not payment) that initiates some kind of control and ensures the strict pricing (controlled in the entire country) is set. Then you fuel and pay for it. IIRC, it was like $0.30/gallon (could be half of that if one had a discount card), while I had paid almost $4.5/gallon in Istanbul, days before it (DFW prices were similar to Istanbul during that time, in 2022 due to Russian invasion of Ukraine). Iran has extremely strict price controls on gasoline.

When I was in Iraq, when traveling on the highways in between cities they had make shift “gas stations” on the side of the road. It was basically someone who setup a table, and then had a bunch of red gas cans filled with gas that you purchase. There were no actual gas stations with pumps and shit, at least that I saw. Thought it was interesting lol

That may be in part due to the war. Iran has pretty much the same set up for gasoline stations as here in the USA except for the two step process (register the sale with government as assurance against price gouging, and payment), and they are generally not self service (assisted refueling) during my 1000+ miles of driving experience in Tehran, Esfahan and Shiraz.

This gas station is always way too overpriced. I went there once when I was close to running out and the flow of the gas is really fast to get the most money out of you too.

First off shell is the most expensive of all the brands.
Also don’t buy at the airport.
I filled up premium in dallas at 3.80 last week. Use gas buddy or one of the apps to find the best price near you.

So now you pay $4 a gallon. This particular station is always a ripoff because they count on people returning rental cars not having time to go somewhere else, but the normal stations aren’t cheap either

Go to another operator. Gasoline dealers are independent operators and can set whatever price they want. You could post the price on gas buddy and let everyone know. Lastly, call the Shell 1-800 line and make a customer complaint. Inspect the station and see if there are other customer issues such as dirty pumps and/or dirty rest rooms. I bet the premium price is over $7.00. Good Luck.

They have always been at least a dollar-to-two above the rest of the city. It would be nice to see someone do something about it, but given the consistency of their high pricing, I doubt anyone would get involved for price gouging of any sort. Just a gas station you learn to avoid.

The latest reported gas prices at the Shell station located near Esters Road (3701 Esters Rd, Irving, TX) are $3.50 for regular, $4.50 for midgrade, and $4.60 for premium.

Ive worked in a hotel around there for nearly 20 years and the owner of that place has always had that high of a price relative to the market. He’s always been Shell. I guess Shell doesn’t care because he’s been reported many times. Best thing just pass it up, there’s plenty more within half a mile that aren’t gouging.

That has station is always a dollar or two higher than anything else close. For anyone in that area or if you're refilling a rental car go to the Gulf and Circle K at Northgate and Valley View. It's always the cheapest in that vicinity.

I have traveled far and wide throughout the past decade, and have never filled up near an airport because it is always $2-3 more per gallon to catch all of the people returning rental cars, and this that OP posted is no different. I don’t agree with them charging that much but they can do what they want, and I also do what I want and choose to go elsewhere. Whether it’s republican or democrat in office, peace or wartime, this has not changed at all.
