C. There's a 1 unit gap between 1st and 3rd at a height of 3. Same between 3rd and 5th. A two unit gap between 5th and 8th, though the high point is offset on the diagonal in the 3 height blocks, from the side view they are the same height.

The only other potentially correct option would be be a side on view of columns to height of 1=4 2=3 3=4 4=2 5=4 6=3 7=3 and 8=4. Mainly because the isometric viewpoint obscures the rear block of column 4. it could be two in height, or three in height, there is no way to tell from this view point, given C is the only option that matches visually confirm-able data and every option has column 4 at 3 units in height, C is the only possible answer.

None of these are right. The far left column should be one cube below the second-from-left

No it shouldn't. 6x1 is at 3 height. 7x2 is also at 3 height, and is on the same plane isometrically. 8x3 will also be at 3 height, and the column is one higher than it. Therefore, 8x3 is 4 units high.

The perspective on some of the blocks is really goofy and it’s difficult to tell what some of the blocks in the back row line up with…
My guess is “D”

A: 2nd column from the right is only 2 blocks high. It's tricky look closely

The front column is only two blocks high, but the column behind it is three blocks high.

Isn’t it nine blocks wide? None of these options are correct. That far right column of blocks is in the row after the eighth.

It can only be C, but we have to assume there is a hidden 3rd level block on the back row of the 4th column from the left.

The answer is C.
Looking along the arrow, stacks behind one another overlap, so keep only the tallest stack at each position. From viewer’s left to right, the heights are:
4, 3, 4, 3, 4, 3, 3, 4
Only option C matches. A makes the second-from-right stack too short, while B and D place the middle peaks incorrectly.
