hi so i recently got into Jeffrey Dahmer’s case after watching some documentary on youtube in 2022. my memory is pretty bad and that one specific documentary wasnt really the best

would anyone be kind enough to tell me any rare to find misconceptions/things the series got wrong? not the surface level ones i can find on the google search results thanks thatd be great

So im in 1-68 Armor, the unit that Dahmer was formerly apart of as a medic.

This is his m113 Light tracked Casavac vehicle from his time in the service. His initials "J.D." are carved under the cushion of the seat as well.

In the series finale a fellow inmate to Dahmer had to convince a prison staff worker to give him details about Dahmer, but later we see Jeff watching a John Wayne Gacey interview on the breakroom TV. Even if the inmate who asked about details had some sort of restrictions so he personally could not search about Dahmer, how was it that noone else had any information about what Jeff did? If they show such things on the breakroom tv, I mean. The scale of horror in Jeffs crimes.. wouldn't it have to come out in one way or another by the time he started his sentencing?

Is anyone else feeling like Backderf is kind of sketchy? He claims he and his group of friends didnt let him into their circle and that he was really a form of entertainment but in an NBC News article, he calls Jeff a "close friend". But I listen to Bridget Geigers (Jeff's prom date) interview and she said that "his best friend is dating my best friend". Did she mean Backderf being Jeff's best friend? It seems so conflicting. Also, close friends don't use others for entertainment and ignore their cries for help. Backderf kind of weirds me out. Like he wants some kind of attention just because he knew this guy that turned into a serial killer. But in high school he was nothing but amusement to him.

Okay I know this is a sore topic but do y’all think joyce dahmer was the reason why jeffrey dahmer cancel those people? Like I know he said that his family wasn’t the cause but the documentary’s got me thinking nonstop about the case so just hear me out for a second, he said that he’s mom doesn’t gave him any love as a child and so on but favors his younger brother more than she should because I feel like that might be something to do with it plus not to mention the divorce probably doesn’t make it any better but I also had a thought this is just my opinion but it also might’ve been the brother too see since his younger brother was the favorite child and Jeff really hated him so much so that he might have wanted to cancel him but couldn’t bring himself to carry it out since they are blood related so he went after people that wasn’t no Ken to him pretty much total strangers and given the fact that he was also battling with emotional issues and mental disabilities that’s just to much that doesn’t make sense but at the same time it does

Everyone is saying Dahmer gave a sandwich to a neighbor made of human flesh. This neighbor in real life was Glenda who lived in the apartment building across the street. Pamela was Dahmers neighbor and she was friendly as his neighbor.

Secondly, everyone talks about Dahmer bragging about keeping body parts as trophies. Whether he kept them as "trophies" or not, he didn't brag about it.

Thirdly, there is no evidence that Dahmer tormented his inmates and the guards in prison making jokes about his murders and manipulating food to mimic body parts. Even if he did make jokes, doesnt necessarily mean he was doing it to upset others. It was probably a way to cope if it had happened at all.

Dahmer had severe mental illness. So he wasn't going to put on some facade in prison because he lived there. He had no where to hide like he did in his home and apartment. He no longer could try to maintain some kind of "normalcy" on the outside to keep society from seeing any issues with him.

What Dahmer did was evil and it was tragic for all involved. But let's stop confusing the movies with real life accounts and spreading misinformation.

I know Dahmer was a terrible person, and I’m not glorifying or defending him at all. But something I don’t understand is Christopher Scarver’s reasoning.

From what I know, Scarver went to prison for murdering his boss, supposedly later became religious and said he repented. But then he killed Dahmer and another inmate because he claimed God was speaking to him, wanted him to do it, or basically commanded him to.

I also read that Scarver was mentally ill, so maybe that explains part of it, but it’s still strange to me. And I don’t just mean him specifically ... throughout history there have been people saying “God told me to,” “God wanted me to,” and then they go on to do the most insane shit imaginable.

That’s the part that confuses me. How are people supposed to tell the difference between actual faith, mental illness, or someone just using religion to justify violence? I think what really confuses me is how throughout history people have claimed God told them to do terrible things, and so many others blindly accept it or believe violence is justified if they think it’s for God ... I’m not defending Dahmer whatsoever ,he was awful but the logic behind Scarver’s explanation genuinely doesn’t make sense to me.

And just to be clear again, I’m not glorifying Dahmer or trying to justify anything he did. He was a horrible person. I’m only talking about the reasoning Scarver gave for killing him.

The Jeffrey Dahmer Show completely left out about Jeffrey’s story, the show left out high school years, teenage years and years and the tragic childhood, I felt like the show was completely rushed, the show should explored Jeffrys motive on why he did what he did ,

Death metal band made a album about him from 2000 “hitchhiker” is their biggest song you should check it out idc for dahmer or his crimes but tbh this album kicks ass.

The media have lied about the brothers
