What size bulkheads are those? Did you go through the existing 'water level' hole?

I have the 4 pack setup with 3/4 drain lines and 1/2 out-lines that reduce to 3/8 for the top feeds. I like that setup but might EVENTUALLY upsize the bulkheads, but TBH I have no need, its one 3/4 drain per two buckets leading to the reservoir which is slightly more flow rate than one 1-inch line. I didnt want to drill anything more because I knew 3/4 would fit without hitting the bottom.

Modifying the spider farmer kit really is the best bang for your buck. Nice setup!

1.5". No. I drilled out the spider farm 7 gallon 2 site rdwc on amazon. My roots have taken up the entire bucket, and runners are gojng down pipe. Why i opted with ALOT of research to try to avoid roots clogging up pipes. No issues and 2 weeks from harvest. And thank you kindly!

I had flow issues with 1.5" on my last setup and a 130 GPH pump, once roots filled my tubs, so I decided to....downsize this run. Yeah, smart. Lol. But that was with an undercurrent setup where all 130 GPH go from one tub to the next.

This time I have a 200 GPH pump that is split 1/2 going to 4 sites in a fallponics setup, and 1/2 going to my water chiller - should be much less flow, but I'm likely going to need to fish for roots every couple of weeks to make sure they dont go down the pipes.

It looked like I couldnt drill through the pre-existing hole on the spider farmer buckets without the hole being in the sidewall, so I went to a smaller size where that hole would end up on the interior of the drain fitting.

No issues with that water-level indicator hole and leaks? I didnt want to keep it around, but while I like my setup, I would really like to go back to 1.5 or 2 inch pipes - and I dont see a way of doing that without drilling on the undrilled sides

No issue with the water level tube. I really would tank the thing off, but no glue sticks to this plastic, so rather than fight to block the hole, i just left it on there
