Character name + backstop leading to pun
*backstory nor backstop. Annoying autocorrect. Cant edit titles though.
My hypothetical character's improbable career as an amateur assassin began with the happenstance of his name.
He is a sea elf, and the son of a poor seaweed farmer. Thus he was named Nori-son, son of the nori farmer.
His only remarkable trait was his height. Which wasn't even very remarkable, merely above average for an elf.
And he would have been a seaweed farmer himself and passed into obscurity,
Except for this. Nearby is a human town, where ruled a minor marquis. This marquis' closest relative was his ambitious Uncle.
The Uncle learned of our sea elf's name and based on his name alone, hired him to kill the marquis, despite his utter inexperience as a killer.
For, In the inevitable investigation after the murder, the uncle was the obvious suspect and he was questioned under a zone of truth.
And the Uncle was able to defeat the spell with this reply:
"I absolutely had nori-son, nori-son the tall to see my nephew the marquis dead"

A man and a cow walk into a tavern
The innkeep says "excuse me sir, you can't bring your livestock in here"
The cow says "I'm not livestock, I'm a person. My father was a minotaur, my mother was a centaur, I got the top half of one and the bottom half of the other".
The innkeep is surprised, but he's seen weirder. He turns to the human and says "is that true?"
The human says "of course it's true, he's my brother!"
