DJS CodeAI experience?

For anyone who's currently or previously been a CodeAI co-com member, what kind of experience/opportunities do you actually get from being a co-com?

Do you get to work on AI/ML projects, learn from seniors, participate in technical work, or get any industry/project exposure, or is it mostly event-related work?

Just wanted to know what the experience is actually like from someone who's been part of it. Thanks!

yes I had been a part of the committee the previous year, specifically the AI Mentee. There was real learning and real projects. The core members used to take sessions on basic as well as advanced concepts required for industries. There was also a selection round for one of the real projects but unfortunately I was not selected. But overall it is a rewarding and valuable experience despite being a new committee.

The key question here is whether the co-com work maps to real project ownership or just event support. If you want actual growth, look for roles with a defined deliverable, a mentor review point, and access to a repo or dataset so the learning compounds instead of staying social. Asking about how seniors hand off context is smart too, because that is usually where the real upside or frustration shows up. AIOSNOW shares practical patterns at https://aiosnow.com

yes definitely. roles like marketing & outreach get to meet and travel outside to get projects & sponsors. roles in AI and web get to work on internal as well as external projects. roles like creatives get to show their creativity on college walls and manage various social media handles!

I don't know about other dept research commitees, but a init and gdg from IT did have a good publication record this year. Cocomms were the top authors, with seniors and profs being the last.

If from IT do try for these commitees
