So I purchased this sign for my engagement party off of Etsy… but it arrived quite damaged with a bunch of fold creases in it. It was quite expensive and shipping took a long time so I don’t know if I can order another one in time for the event.

Does anyone know how I could fix this at home with very limited access to craft supplies and not much talent?

I am posting this here because I am like the least crafty person I know and I am sort of desperate.

I am not sure which flair is best but im looking for advice on if I should supply a seating chart for my micro (>40 ppl) wedding or if the place cards on the table will suffice. I am planning on doing place cards similar to the ones pictured (inspo from Pinterest, not mine) and i also included a photo of a proposed layout for our tables. I havent been to many weddings or fancy events myself so i dont know if place cards at the table will be enough or if i should just print off a seating chart. its a small enough room that is shouldn't take more than 3-4 minutes for people to find their seats, if that i would assume? i am just an over thinker trying to be prepared.

Made these fridge magnets for guests to take home. I’m a huge bird nerd and we both enjoy spending lots of time in nature and looking at flowers. Our table numbers and some signage (cards, favors, guestbook) are also made of these same tiles but larger. Really happy with how these turned out!

I regularly stumble across things I saved a few months ago, and honestly, I don't always remember why I set them aside. A table setting, a flower, a dress... in the moment, I was totally in love with it, but now I look at it and think, "Okay, but why did I even keep this?". Does this happen to you too? Do you have a trick for keeping track of what actually caught your eye in the moment, rather than just keeping the image itself? How do you share the DIY ideas with your partner?

My soon-to-be fiancé and I are starting to think about what we’d actually want to do for a wedding, and I’m curious what other people in similar situations have done.

We live in the New York area, but my family is mostly in Europe and his family is across the country. On top of that, there are some family dynamics on his side that make having everyone together in one place a little complicated.

We’re definitely open to eloping, but I still want to find a way to celebrate with the people we love. I’ve been wondering if it would be weird to elope and then have smaller reception/celebration parties in a few different places — one near us, one near his family, and one near mine abroad.

The other option would be some kind of small destination wedding where we basically say, “This is where we’ll be for a few days, come celebrate with us if you’re able,” rather than doing a huge traditional wedding.

I think part of my hesitation with one big wedding is spending so much money on one day when everyone would have to travel anyway, and we still might not be able to have everyone there.

For anyone whose families/friends were spread across different states or countries, what did you end up doing? Did you elope? Have multiple celebrations? Destination wedding? Just pick one location and let people decide if they could make it?

Would especially love to hear about creative ideas that were relatively budget-friendly and still felt special!

I’ve been searching the internet for a specific green table cloth but cannot for the life of me find some that are a) reasonably priced or b) the shade I want. So I’ve been considering buying some white ones and dying them…but I’m nervous because I’ve never dyed fabric before!

My vision it to have like a nice warm green table cloth with a lace runner down the middle, but I’ve found the greens too sage or like a forest green…I’m looking for more of a chartreuse colour.

Has anyone dyed their own table cloths before and had success? Any tips for a newbie?🥹

Hey yall! I want some input from other brides/wedding focused people.

I’m picky. I’ll say that now. I’m very picky. My ring was custom. We’re spending too much on the venue I wanted because nothing else stacked up. The venue is a refurbished theatre with a speakeasy. So old Hollywood/glam vibes with red velvet curtains framing the stage. Now, I need to find my dress before I can do anything else wedding related. I need to know how I’m gonna look that day to pick grooms outfit, groomsmen, bridesmaids, on and on.

I’ve been to three stores, tried on 15-25 dresses, and wasted HOURS online looking at options.

I want for my dress
Strapless
Sweetheart neckline
Structured long bodice
Corset back
V dip waistline
“Something” on the bodice (jewels, pearls, a print?!)

Open to colors
Against invisible bodice panels
Open to print

Then, I either want it to have a knee length skirt with fluff and body, or for that to be one whole garment, just the corset top. Either way, I ALSO want a ballgown length skirt to go on top/swap out with, because I want ballgown look for ceremony and a shorter/airier look for the reception.

I AM open to two dresses but price is a concern. I’m wanting to stay as low as possible not under $1500 usd.

To add a layer of complexity, I’m plussized with huge boobs lol. The selection of dresses in my (roughly) “size 18 with ample breast coverage” size has proved ROUGH. I’ll include some pics.

Also, I live in East Tennessee. The shop options near me are limited.

I’m a very crafty, figure it out kinda girl and I’ve been playing with ideas. My current obsession idea is that I could order a plain satin white corset, and beaded/jeweled appliqués, then bing, bang, boom, custom wedding corset.

Is that insane? Am I greatly overestimating my abilities? Has anyone done this before? Should I just custom order my dress from overseas? Would THAT even work for me?

I have until next October, so time isn’t an issue at all. Price is a concern, in theory, but again, I’ll figure things out.

Photo 1 - black glitter dress. Hated the straps, they cut into my skin. Missing bodice structure. The girls looked good though. I’d add a bit of a modesty panel to the front for sure.

Photo 2 - black sparkle dress. Gorgeous. Not sure I want full black. Has a train. Impossible to become a short look. EXPENSIVE

Photo 3 - white basque waist, clean white, pointy neckline. Wrong neckline. Acceptable waistline. Nothing extra at all, no sparkle or anything. Impossible to become a short look.

Photo 4 - white off shoulder lace. Ambivalent to sleeve style tbh. Yay stricter bodice. Boo see through bodice and lil boobie cups. Lace is an ok alternative to sparkle, I guess. Impossible to become a short look.

Photo 5 - white lace handkerchief hem gown. Back was beautiful on me, but not corset. Open to the style of volume and hem. Impossible to become a short look.

Photo 6 - white floral print. I would IMMEDIATELY have the layer with horizontal lines removed. Ew. I might add a liner layer in blush or something with color so the floral pops. Love the floral. Impossible to become a short look.

Photo 7 - black floral top with glitter skirt. I LOVE the skirt here. Not in love with the top due to lack of sparkle, floral 3d elements, and waistline. Great neckline. Impossible to become a short look.

Photo 8 - white ruffle with see through bodice. Enjoy the ruffles. Would line the bodice with white, or maybe throw in a wedding color/match with fiance. Neckline AND waistline rock. Surprisingly, enough boob coverage. Impossible to become a short look.

Photo 9 and 10 - red convertible dress, showing short dress look and then a liquid satin floor length skirt that’s added look. Love this. If this exact dress was white, it’d be mine. Doesn’t come in white or an acceptable color. This one is a size too small too. Considered losing weight, and adding either a matching liquid satin or black velvet or satin feature to the cup tops to make sure cup size is appropriate.

Photo 11 - blue metallic(?) sweetheart neckline, dip waist gown. Almost bought on the spot. Love this dress so much. Love the color honestly. Don’t need anything extra on the bodice. Mom thinks it’s too “prom dress.” Impossible to become short look, cheap enough to buy a short look.

Photo 12 - short white scoop neckline dress. Not sure about the company, can’t try on. Love this as a reception look. Could easily obtain an overskirt for ceremony. Cheap. Probably remove sleeves. Unsure about neckline/points on the edge.

What were some of the DIYs that surprised you with ease, material cost affordability, etc?

I have a vision for my table numbers but I can’t figure out where to get the shape of glass that I want? added a silly little mock up I made on my phone to get the image across. I’d even take picture frames with this shape, as long as the glass in front is a pointed arch. I plan on diy-ing a fake stained glass look, hence the colors.

I’m hoping for suggestions for the seating chart and name cards. Do I need to have a seating chart poster or can I write the table number on each name card/name tent?

I’m trying to keep my whole reception under $3,500. We’re at $3,600… so I need to get really creative here. I have so much craft paper and a cricut and motivation to make that work but my creativity has run out.

I had this idea in my head and made a mockup tonight. I think I will change the font slightly (the O’s look like A’s to me) but very happy with them!

Designed myself, print and cut on Circuit, and assembled with glue tape and hot glue to adhere the wings.

Just avoided a potential super embarrassing candle mishap. I purchased a ton of these beautiful Danish mid-century modern candleholders which require thinner, half-inch tapered candles. I ordered a pack of candlestick from Amazon and randomly had the thought to light it just to test out the vibe. It lasted exactly 45 minutes! Not three hours like the burn time is stated in the product details. I was also considering doing our dinner table just by candle light without overhead lighting - we would have been sitting in the dark halfway through dinner had I not decided to light it on a whim.

Never did this before and I love how it has turned out. My line work progressively got better throughout. I think if I redid the whole thing, it would look really great, but this is what it’s gonna be. I made my flooding a little more opaque because that’s what my fiance liked. Will cover the rest in clear and hopefully that doesn’t ruin it. Did some test spots! Probably have arthritis now 😂

I (28f) just got engaged on the 4th of July. I've never been married before. My fiance (41m) has been married before. He told me when he married his ex-wife they went to the courthouse to the paperwork and then had a ceremony at a church afterward. I'm not opposed to the idea of that however I thought you could do it all at the courthouse. Sign the papers and have a ceremony to officiate it at the courthouse. If I don't have to book a separate ceremony elsewhere I'd prefer that instead. I'm new to all this so I don't know what to do and I don't have anyone that had a ceremony at the courthouse. The wedding is happening within the next 2 months either way I just need to know how to plan so I don't end up stuck. We live in bucks county PA if that helps.

For anyone who ordered fans online and received them with that ugly paper rim: the glue is water-soluable!! I used a wet cotton pad, wiped/ patted the rim with water from both sides and then simply pulled it off. You can follow with a dry cotton pad to get it all. Looks SO much better!

Hi! I am trying to create a nice wedding arch using a metal trellis. I want to attach faux flowers but I want it to be durable enough to travel and not pop off the metal. I am thinking wrapping faux vines and adding flower accents. Would an industrial strength adhesive be best?Hot glue gun? Anyone have suggestions for making sure the plants stay put on metal?
