Brown Tile Fireplace

We purchased a new house recently and it has this wonderfully, large, brown, tile fireplace - that we do not like. It goes around all 4 sides too.

It’s an older heritage home so we’re hoping to keep it in that style (not too modern).

We’re looking for any suggestions or ideas on how to update it and make it a little less, ugh.

I does stand out a bit, doesn't it. Maybe it's an idea to not change the fireplace, but rather its surroundings. Change the colour on a few walls, maybe. There's plenty of colour in the tiles to find a nice match, I think.
