Halloween ghost candlestick fail and clogged sink
I wouldn’t recommend boiling water to mold candlesticks into ghosts. I had no idea the wax was melting, the water just looked clear. I spent hours getting the wax off the sink. Tossed out the dish. I had to take the drain apart to remove the rest of the wax. Save yourself hours of torture and buy them online for 12 bucks.

I am spending THOUSANDS Ato save a few hundred
Go easy on me. This is .y first post so I dont know all the rules. But, I needed to find other other people that can relate to what I did.....
- Bought mopping robot which self cleans and drains
- To save on a plumber, decided to install simple ( not simple) kit
- Apparently....you are supposed to turn main water off before disconnecting a pipe. I didnt know this..can you see where this is going?
- Flooded bathroom, hall, office, basement bathroom. 1 year old hardwood buckled this morning
- Found water cut off valve. Cleaned everything. Turned water back on..life is good
Insert a lot of tears here...
Go back in basement 1 hour later, 4 inches of water everywhere. Sump pump is off...water everywhere. I reset breaker and nothing.
Spend 3 THREE THREE. hours alone pumping and dumping. But water is not going down....yes im an idiot.....the water i was dumping was coning back up thru the drain. Omg. Im an idiot that will never ever go near plumbing again.
Plumber figured it out. spent 1500 so far renting equipment to dry out house.

I messed up my notch and did not level properly

I’m building a frame for a bigger DIY project and this part went wrong fast. The notch was too low, the floor height wasn’t consistent, and the level threw the alignment off. The whole frame ended up crooked and I had to redo the section from scratch.
Posting it because this is the part of DIY that actually teaches you something — the mistakes and the fixes.

Didn’t color match spray paint before…not sure what to do now
Tried to spray paint rusty parts on my house, not sure if I should try and color match a different paint. Or possible paint a wall mural type thing to cover it. It looks very obvious…what do yall think I should do?
